Today consisted of one rejection. I have my first onsite interview tomorrow morning! Send me some positive vibes please! I am nervous and excited! Still waiting on 7 more sites......

Best of luck. I had my first one last week. Just stay calm and remember all of the reasons why you are a good candidate.

Hi All,
I posted this before, but now that Hines VA sent out confirmations I wanted to check again. I have a friend who has a scheduling conflict with Hines and is looking for someone who will switch their January 9th date for January 14th. They will even pay for a couple nights of your hotel! Does anyone who has a Hines VA interview be willing to switch to January 9th from January 14th? Free hotel nights too! PM me if you can!!!

Three rejections today and no good news. Rejections from Cornerstone Behavioral Health, Lehigh University, and University of Puget Sound.. here's to hoping tomorrow brings better news!

Received a personalized email invitation from the Minnesota Department of Corrections today for three facilities - Lino Lakes, Shakopee, and Stillwater. Interviews are Jan 8-17 and are scheduled by a staff member from each facility.

Invitation to interview via mass email 12/11 University of Idaho. Interview dates first three weeks of January. Optional open house for finalists 12/24

I received that email this afternoon - still under consideration, not being offered an onsite interview, but they will contact if they want a telephone interview. I guess there really *is* a B-list.

May I ask which track? I applied to neuro track at Louis Stokes and haven't received rejection or invite :/

Do you mind if I ask what time? I've been anxiously awaiting their response since I heard they sent some rejections last night.

Has anyone heard back from HCMC about picking an open house date? I called Tuesday afternoon and still haven't heard back.

Rejection received via mass email from Napa State Hospital @ 9:00 EST. This one was a reach, but it still hurts. 🙁

This place is nearly as remote:

Norton Sound Health Corporation- Behavioral Health Services
2 Full Time Funded Positions

General Information
The Norton Sound Health Corporation (NSHC) in the Bering Strait Region of remote northwest Alaska operates the Norton Sound Regional Hospital in Nome. The Bering Strait Region encompasses a vast pristine 44,000 square-mile area extending to the Russian border in the Bering Sea. Nome is the central community of the Bering Strait Region with 3,500 residents. NSHC operates clinics in 15 outlying Alaska Native villages on the coast, including the islands of St. Lawrence and Little Diomede in the Bering Sea. About 81 percent of the Bering Strait Region’s 9,300 people are Alaska Natives, composed of Siberian-Yupik, Central Yupik and Inupiaq. NSHC has a workforce of 450 employees, 325 stationed in Nome and 125 living and working in the outlying Native communities. The Behavioral Health Services (BHS) program of NSHC includes a staff of 35 in Nome coupled with its village-based counseling programs in the outlying Native villages.

I am from Alaska, and I applied to to the Alaska Psychology Internship Consortium, of which this site is a part. It is actually a pretty fantastic internship site.

I'm really annoyed bc Child & Adolescent in Canton was supposed to be one of my "safety" sites (whatever that means anymore anyway!), and then today they emailed me and said I was an interview "alternate." When I asked what that means, they said that if anyone decides to cancel at ANY TIME, I would need to make myself available for whatever time is open! That just seems really ridiculous considering a) the cost b) the inconvenience c) I live in Denver, CO so it's not like it's exactly next door! I definitely don't feel that wanted right now, but at the same time, I still only have 3 interviews (well I guess 3.5 now?!), so I guess if it does come open, sadly I will probably take it. *Sigh!*

+1 as an "alternate", and I personally think it's a kinda crappy thing for them to do given the imbalance of internship sites. It seems to ensure that they will fill their internship slots by keeping people "hanging on the string", when there is a really low probability that the alternates will actually be called. It feels a lot like the dating process and associated masochism...almost like continuing to go out with someone who was lukewarm about you...and then they drop you like yesterday's newspaper if someone better comes along?!? Thanks, but I'll pass. The site should either want the "date" with me, or just say "they're not interested" or "they're not sure they want a serious commitment right now" and let me move on. I thought this type of stuff was over once I got engaged, but I guess I was wrong!😉

Personalized Interview Invite: Boston Children's (email: 2:50 pm)
General Interview Invite: The School at Columbia (email: 9:00 pm)

Thinking of all of you this Friday and weekend and sending positive energy into the universe! Grenas and Cara...good luck! You have been so incredibly supportive of all of us on here...thinking of you tomorrow!

Good luck Grenas and Cara - I'm sure you'll do great! And good luck to everyone still waiting for news! Here's hoping tomorrow brings lots of good news for all of us!!!

Email from Ancora Psychiatric Hospital, personalized, they WILL NOT be accepting interns for the 2014-2015 year due to losing so many licensed psychologists (retirement, moving, etc), including the director of internship. They started they are losing people over the next 18 months so they're trying to interview and get new licensed psychologists ASAP for the 2015-2016 year. Bummer...

I'm not all that surprised by this. I interviewed there last year and got a really unpleasant vibe. Hopefully they turn things around and are up and running for the next year because there are a lot of great opportunities there.

I know that Applewood called people for invites last week, but is there anyone who received an invite recently or a rejection? I haven't heard either way, so I was just curious if people were still waiting on them.

Anybody else hear from these sites
Institute of living-Child
Alexian Brothers-Child and Adolescent Track
Astor
Southern Arizona Psychology Internship
I'm waiting on Astor too. Haven't seen anything about them.

Did anyone actually hear back from Denver Health today? The word on the street was that we would hear today, but I heard nothing, neither positive or negative.

Yeah, I applied to the Norton Sound consortium site last year, but didn't receive an interview.
It does look interesting as long as you don't mind living in a town that can only be reached by small aircraft or dogsled =)

I actually applied there this year. Haven't heard back yet. It sounds like a really cool adventure, but at the same time i'm wondering if it would be too isolated. Perhaps those from Alaska can comment...

interview at community counseling center mercer county personalized 4 dates last fridays in january

mass rejection email from Pace UCC today (12/12) at 3:54pm EST.

On another note, if the interview notification date for a site was 12/11, do you all think it makes sense to assume that a lack of response = rejection? Is it even worth emailing the site at this point? Unlike some other sites, this site did not state clearly that applicants would hear back if the applications are rejected...

Me too from Pace. I don't know the answer to your question, but IMHO, I do think it's OK to email and politely ask the status of your application, especially since they had a notification date other than the 15th.

I received rejections from University of Maine (12/12) and Maine VA (12/11), both mass emails.

I'm from Alaska. I've actually been to Nome a few times. Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions. I'd be happy to tell you what it's like out there.

Anyone heard from:
Aspen Pointe
Buffalo VA
CMHI Pueblo
Denver Health
Jesse Brown VA Chicago
Mount Sinai Rehabilitation
Orlando VAMC
West Palm VAMC
Also waiting to hear from Mount Sinai Rehabilitation. Here's hoping we get some good news today!

Congrats on the invite! 🙂 Long Beach = Guidance Center I am guessing? I don't think it would be bad to ask the one on the 8th if you could reschedule. You could just say something like, "I have a scheduling conflict with a site that only has availability on the 7th, making it extremely difficult to get to you by the 8th, do you have any alternate days I could come?" I think that training directors understand that our schedules get full really fast, because a lot of sites offer interviews on the same days, and won't take it as an insult if you ask to reschedule. That is what I have heard anyway. Fortunately, I have not had this problem yet, but it looks like I might have a conflict depending on how the sites I am waiting to hear from pan out. And I plan on just emailing whichever sites I need to if that happens. Good luck!
Thanks for your advice! I actually called my program about it, and they said that it would look bad to reschedule with The Guidance Center (yes, in Long Beach), since they were the ones I committed to first, and that I should try to see if TN can be more flexible with me, maybe let me come on a different day or something. They were also laughing a little bc culturally they couldn't really see me in the south (not sure if I can either!), so they thought Cali might be a better fit. I guess we'll see what happens! Pretty stressed about the whole thing though… can't sleep. Today's gonna be interesting!!!

I got the same thing today saying that I was an alternate and I had emailed and asked if they knew what date they would notify people and they just said until the 21st. I live closer so I mean it's not as inconvenient for me as it is for you, but it's still super annoying. I also have three (3.5) interviews, but i just wonder how many people are actually going to not go to the interview. Even though it's better than a rejection, I don't know about you, but it still feels anxiety provoking with this site
Yeah totally anxiety provoking! Also because the way things are going so far, even with so few interviews, I'm already having problems with scheduling… so the chances of me being able to get over there in a pinch don't seem too good. It just kind of feels like a stick in the eye!

It seems to ensure that they will fill their internship slots by keeping people "hanging on the string", when there is a really low probability that the alternates will actually be called.

I know it sucks to be wait-listed. . . but there are people who do turn down interviews as their schedule fills up. I just canceled an interview with a site because it conflicts with interview dates at other places, because I don't love the city that it's in, and because it wasn't a great fit (I'm not being interviewed at my 'preferred' track). . . and I have enough interviews that I feel comfortable letting one go. So - don't dismiss a place that you've been wait-listed on - it may mean that they think you're qualified, but don't have enough slots to interview everyone unless someone turns them down.

Also -- if you find yourself needing to cancel an interview, it sounds like it's best to do it sooner rather than later so wait-listed people can get a shot. 🙂
. .
