WF should have sent you an e-mail with the subject "wake forest school of medicine application" that will have a link inside for you to check your status. If you can't find that, their website has a link that takes you to the application portal and you can check it that way.

I have that link but all it has is my application. In another school's thread someone said they could view their update on a PC but not their Mac. Are you on a PC? I just got a Mac and don't know if I'm missing something here....Also, that link on their website never loads for me either

Ambitionista beat me to it! You are probably looking at your secondary link and not the link to check your status. Did her hyperlink work for you? I'm also on a Mac and haven't had a problem accessing the link. Good luck!
 
The status link always fails me the first time, PC or Mac. Loading it a second time does the trick.

I have two e-mails from them (a complete and secondary) and neither has that link! Thanks for posting it!
And yes, I was looking at the secondary link, but that was the only one I had. Maybe I looked it over and it's floating in my inbox somewhere. Oh well, it doesn't look like I was missing out on much haha

I got the email with the status link well before I got the email for the secondary. It was the first thing I got from WF once my primary was verified. Probably way down in your inbox!

This. I got my status link e-mail a few days before I got my e-mail with the secondary link. Either way, problem solved as the link has been posted!
 
I'm driving down to Wake Forest from the NYC area on 1/22 for a 1/23 interview (will be driving back up on 1/24) if anyone needs a ride and wants to split gas. I probably should have posted this sooner...

Same here (Completed 9/16)…I am actually getting kinda worried. I read through this whole thread to see if they do silent rejections but doesn't seem to be the case. Here's to hoping we will hear something soon.

Who knows. Hopefully they haven't but NYU had its last interview day a little over a week ago but they still won't send out rejections til most likely February.
 
Wake Forest interviews until March; has anyone received an II for late February or March yet?

ADMISSIONS UPDATE - 8,001 applications have been received to date, up 8% from last year's total. We're mid way in the interview process, finishing up around mid March. There are 53 offers out for places in the class (rolling admissions).

AMCAS is still experiencing delay. They've received 47,212 applications so far, up 3.45% up from this time last year. WFSM applications represent a 17% share of the total applications submitted.

Appreciate the transparency, but I'd love the one number they didn't share, which is the number of interview offers still remaining.

II = interview invite. Nobody gets rejected and then invited to interview, so I'm going to assume you meant to ask if anyone has been rejected before receiving a secondary. IIRC, yes, some people have posted about being rejected pre-secondary. Hope this helps!
 
My interpretation of that question was, "Has anyone been notified of a rejection before receiving an interview invite," since some schools will accept/waitlist/reject applicants after their interview throughout the cycle but hold pre-interview rejections for later in the year. To my knowledge, Wake Forest has not sent out any pre-interview rejections yet, but someone who's been rejected thus far can correct me if that's not the case.

Your interpretation makes much more sense than mine! I feel stupid now lol, but I've been seeing a lot of people on the threads who believed II was an abbreviation for a secondary. I agree with you, though--I don't remember seeing anyone comment about pre-interview rejections thus far, either. I don't believe WF starts sending out pre-interview rejections until the interview season is over.

I suppose I stand corrected, then. I've been complete since mid-July with no updates, so I had interpreted it as a silent rejection.

Where? The only post I could find was on page 10, and it was 1 person who acknowledged they were rejected pre-secondary (not post-secondary/pre-interview).

Also- don't give up home, aspirant! I got an II several months after being complete (also in July). WF continually re-reviews applications. Best of luck to you!

My mistake, I meant pre-secondary rejections.

Why is taking Wake Forest so long to send out II ?
 
Did anyone interview mid December and remember when WF said they'd meet about us? I seem to remember 1/8 but wanted to make sure before I started checking my email obsessively...
 
Yup, 1/8 was what they told me. Still haven't heard anything, but I think the committee met yesterday and emails would come today/tomorrow.
 
For those of you waiting, don't have a heart attack when your email from WF says something like "please check the attached PDF for a decision on your candidacy." When I got this email back in december, I thought it was a sure rejection (a lot of schools do this based off of personal experience getting rejected this cycle) but it was actually an acceptance.

Just a heads up. GL everyone
 
Hey guys...I'm interviewing in the following week and I have a question. I recently became second author for an article...however the abstract was only recently submitted for candidacy in a journal. I will not know whether it will be officially published in the journal till March (although I am certain it will be). Should I bring a paper copy of the abstract to my interview or do yall think it is a bit premature to do this? Also do yall think it would be premature to email this to other schools?

Have you tried checking your status online? I heard they update the status online before they send out the emails.
 
Late to post, but received an II on 12/13 for 1/22! OOS so definitely taking advantage of the student hosting program. Anyone else interviewing on the same date?
