Yaaaay! Phone call to interview at Yale! Young adult track! :soexcited:

I was so excited, I sounded like a drunken psychotic woman on the phone. Lol. I'll try to do some image damage control on the interview. Hehe.

Sooooo, do you guys think it would be appropriate to respond to my rejection emails with:

"WHHHHHYYYYYYYY?"
or
"SO YOU ARE SAYING I AM NOT GOOD ENOUGH? IS THAT IT?"
or
"THANK YOU FOR DESTROYING MY DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE"

?
First one is my fave - it really conveys the emotion of getting rejected...🤣

There aren't enough emoticons to express the feelings of getting invited there! Congrats!

Each rejection feels like I'm being dumped. The worst. :poke:

As much as I like the first-come-first-served, online scheduling, those who work all day and are not in front of a computer are pretty much guaranteed to get the shaft with this type of system (by that I mean left with the days no one else wants). Maybe if the portals opened the morning after the interview notifications go out, it would be a bit more fair, I think.

Can you tell I'm slightly bitter about this particular site? 🙁 Oh well...rant over.

Oh yeah, didn't even think about that. Sorry that happened to you.

Email invite from University of San Diego via mass email. Scheduling is done online and all interviews will be done by Skype from January 7-23.

11 Invites, 4 rejections, and waiting on 10 :xf:

Scheduling is starting to become an issue, so hopefully if more invites come in they do not overlap with others interviews :smack:

Given how small the world of psychology is...maybe something like...

I hope you never get me as your reviewer (if they do research). Automatic rejection of your manuscript/grant proposal/etc!

Generic email rejection from the West Haven CT VA. Applied to the General Mental Health track 11/1.

Email invitation to a phone interview with Oregon State University Counseling Center! There are MANY dates and times for the interview between 1/7 - 1/25. When I confirmed with the TD via email he sent a warm and personal reply.

You go!!!! 👍:highfive::bow: Jealous... :d

Congrats on the interviews....non personalized rejections from U of San Diego and Western Youth Services. I am at 10 rejections, 0 interviews, and this is my third year applying. There is no WAY I am not qualified for any of these sites! I am speechless.

So sorry to hear. Hope you have good news coming your way soon. How did you do interview-wise the last two years?

Congratulations to those who have heard back from Yale! That's amazing!

If anyone knows---has Yale traditionally notified all applicants within a particular track at one time, or do they (hopefully) stagger their invitations a bit?:

Thanks, and good luck to everyone!

Rejected from CHLA.

4 interviews, 8 rejections.
7 sites left but 4 have already offered interviews.

Trying to focus on my 4 sites which are great programs, but feeling a little disappointed....gotta get outta my funk!

First year, I didnt apply to many due to geographical limitations, so no interviews. Last year, 3 interviews out of 17 sites. thought this year would be better =( But THANK YOU for your well wishes, I am trying to stay positive.

Sorry to hear... Sure you are very qualified... not quite sure what these sites are looking for sometimes.

It can only go up for here right? And you only need ONE. :xf:

Here's to good news on the home stretch. Positive vibes to all!

9 invites
2 rejections
15 to go

Bring it!!

May the collective force of good vibes here at SDN land you a spot! G'luck!!!

Anyone hear from Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health? Today is their notification deadline and I think it's after 6PM for them...I know they have until midnight but I can't wait anymore! :bang:

I haven't heard either. I may call tomorrow if I don't hear by then.

Hahaha! I'm contemplating sending that to a few of my top sites, along with:

"YOU'LL RUE THE DAY, YOU'LL SEE!" :poke:

I actually completely agree with this and was thinking of that the other day. It's like when you know a relationship is ending... your partner is withdrawing, and with each act that shows you are no longer loved or wanted, you get this sinking feeling and a pain in your stomach.

I got that pang over the weekend when I thought of a couple of my rejections. Dramatic, I know!

Hello All-

I am visiting Chicago for an interview later in January and I was hoping some of you guys who are knowledgeable of the city could point me in the direction of some hotels and/or neighborhoods that are decent???

Thanks in advance!

So there's a Howard Johnson's on LaSalle and Superior downtown. I stayed there when I was looking for apartments in Chicago. It's a HoJo so it's a decent, safe, inexpensive room. https://m.hojo.com/hotels/illinois/chicago/howard-johnson-inn-chicago-downtown/hotel-overview

Because you'll be downtown, you can easily get to all of the train lines. Use google maps and the public transportation feature and it will tell you how to get to your spot. Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss options for your specific site.

Received personalized email interview notification 12/11 from University of Illinois at Chicago Counseling Center. In person interview dates (1/7, 1/9, 1/11, 1/14, 1/15).

Has anyone received interview notification from University of Southern California CC? Thanks!

There is also a nice hostel (if you want go really cheap...) downtown in the loop: http://hichicago.org/. It is super convenient for public transit, but the area around it (restaurants/ shops) shut down pretty early. I had a meeting here once, and was impressed with how nice it was, didn't see the rooms though...

lol...I like #2+pissed+

You are totally right. You were supposed to call, which I did. I typed it wrong in my post and went back and edited it. I did schedule my appointment. It seemed like they had lots of slots available.

Thank you!! I was able to schedule today. Maybe I'll see you there or even better, end up as coworkers 👍:highfive:

Somehow I missed NC department of corrections, looks like a cool site. Is the Minnesota site the DJJ?

Noo, the minnesota site is DOC. It's not APA accredited, but it's a pretty cool experience if you love corrections like i do!

I've only stayed at the Blake (I think it's a Wyndam?). It was quite nice, but it also cost me a pretty penny. However, I also booked a suite during some extremely busy sports and entertainment weekend for the city. So a basic room during a less busier time might work better... (Ooor, one of the options provided by the other posters might be cheaper by far!)

I should pay more attention when people around here talk about their hotels in the city. It might help. 😛

I am unimpressed with their informal rejection letter. Read for yourself, no sincerely or even a mention of the campus. I am not bitter about not getting an inteview but I looked up a name to find out which campus the individual was from. I have an interview at Charlotte which I am very excited for but seriously, how confusing that would have been had I not heard back from them yet.

Heading: internship app

"Hi there,

Thank you for your interest in our site. We appreciate the effort and time it took to apply. The selection committee has reviewed 140 applications this year from many qualified applicants. We have a limited number of interview slots and sadly, we are not able to offer you an interview. Best wishes to you on your internship search."

Those two parts come across as particularly flippant. Sounds a bit more like a text message than an email from an internship site! I'm sorry Zoe2014. I hope better news is headed your way soon!

I was in contact with them a while back to schedule my interview. They seem super nice!

7 interviews, 0 rejections, 11 more to hear from... come on 12/15!

Generic e-mail rejection this morning with an attached letter. Keeping my fingers crossed for more positive news from other sites today. :xf:

And to make me smile.... I like this one. :diebanana:

Best of luck to everyone today.
