2013 APPIC Internship Application Thread

I received a "Dear Applicant", seemingly mass invitation from the WestCoast Children's Clinic via email on 12/12/2012 at 12:03 PM. The dates offered were 1/16, 1/17 and 1/23, half day interviews!

Has anyone heard from the Sutter Center for Psychiatry, Sacramento (Northern CA Internship Consortium)? I have a friend who received a screening call yesterday, but no interview was set up.
 
Personalized and very kind rejection from SF VA. I was expecting it, but this was my top site, so I'm still really sad. Feeling demoralized now -- 4 interviews, 13 rejections, and 7 more to hear from. They're all UCCs, though, so I'm less hopeful.🙁
 
I suspect that it's likely hard to do at this stage of the game, but TRY to keep up the good spirits, ladies & gents! :clap:

Unfortunately, one of my program members applying is still "stuck" with only one interview at this point. We're trying to look at the brighter side of things; it's definitely hard but doable (particularly if we play distraction games!).

Yeah, I've spoken with some people who received their practicum training there, and it sounds like a great site just on that level. Unfortunately, if it's not APA-accredited, I wouldn't be able to consider it as our program does not allow us to apply to unaccredited sites. Knocks out some great looking sites.

That does stink...but...at least u know u got the best possible training for internship!
 
Has anyone heard from Virginia Tech and/or West Virginia University (Morgantown)'s counseling centers? I am super psyched about these sites, but am hearing nothing but the chirping of little crickets...
 
I think Virginia Tech already sent out invites... did you check the master list?

Edit: actually I'm wrong. I have been looking at the 2012 list to see when sites sent things out last year. Must have remembered seeing it on there. Hope I didn't give you a heart attack 🙁
 
Has anyone heard from the Emory (General Track)? The master list says that interviews have been offered for the neuro track, and the rejections list also includes Emory but does not specify track and I assume that might have been the CC? Thanks!
 
I'm looking at this on my phone, so I can't see subject lines. So I apologize if somebody already posted this. But I received an email rejection from university of Kansas.

Personalized rejections from FCI Terminal Island and Trinitas.
That brings my total to 11 interviews, 7 rejections, and out of the forensic adult tracks I have received FAR more state hospitals than BOP invites. Who knew, considering the fact I worked for them for two years? 😀

Congrats! I applied to the child track, it's my number one site. So I'm uh...waiting patiently....:scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared:
 
I received a "Dear Applicant" email interview invitation with Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) in San Jose, CA.
I'm super excited!
Interview dates and times are:
Tuesday, January 8, 2-4 p.m.
Monday, January 14, 1-3 p.m.
Tuesday, January 15, 2-4 p.m.
Friday, January 18, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Tuesday, January 22, 2-4 p.m.
Friday, January 25, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m

Second rejection letter I've received from the Watson Institute (the first one I received 12/6). It was also nice to see they CC'd all the rejected applicants, rather than BCCing them. Not sure which is less professional lol sending duplicate emails or advertising applicant email addresses for anyone to see...

I just heard from them for an interview. They called me at about 4:15 and I missed the call. I am super super excited!!!!

I also haven't heard anything from the Anchorage VA.

I'm also still waiting to hear from the Central TX VA, Louis Stokes VA, and Pacific Islands (Honolulu) VA.

Where aaaaaaaareeee theeeyyyyyyyy? Why won't they talk to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?

Same with Portland State. I know Santa Ana College sent out invites, anyone received a rejection from them?

I feel like I am having a vastly different experience than most since so many people are already interviewing and such, and I have only received a couple rejections and I am still waiting to hear from 15 sites (possibly 14 with the Santa Ana one, I am assuming that is a rejection now).

The BOP does seem random. Congratulations on your interviews? Was Fort Logan forensic? You seemed to have applied to a great mix of sites. Do you want to do forensic? Good luck!
 
Left a voicemail this morning, no response. If anybody hears please let me know. After how much time is it appropriate to email or call again?Their web site says they would let everyone know either way by yesterday.

It definitely sounds like Lincoln is doing rolling invites. The master list says someone was invited on 11/30. There's hope then!

Yea, I imagine each site is getting at least 100 applicants. What a rough job they have!

I'm wondering the same thing. Has anyone received an invite from the General Track at Emory?
 
Generic rejection from FCI - Terminal Island. Ahhhh phoooey.
 
2 rejections today:

Columbia U/NY Presbyterian, adult track (was expecting this as interview offers went out several weeks ago)

Trinitas, adult track (bummed, but they said they got more than 180 apps for 4 slots...😱)
This one went to my spam folder. Just above an email with the subject "shoulder to cry on" ...

Boo!

And... just as I was typing this, got a call with an interview invite to MHA Westchester, Tarrytown, NY, adult track. Interview dates were 1/4, 1/7, 1/10, 1/15. Finally, a respite from the rejections!

Just got a personalized email inviting me to interview at Yale for the Adult DBT Track. Interview dates Jan 7, 11, and 14.

YAY!
 
I haven't heard from Emory (general track) either, and wondered the same thing.
 
Just got a phone call with an invitation to interview at UCSF CTRP- next Wednesday! Spoke to the DCT herself, and she was very warm and engaging. Super excited and nervous!!!

I received an invitation for BMC today for 1/3. Does anyone know the other dates they are offering interviews?

I'm interviewing there tomorrow, and I know they had interviews on 12/6. They must be doing rolling invites....

For the Woodhull dates, did you actually mean 12/17 and 12/19... Because that's super soon! Haven't heard either way from them yet!!
