Washburn Center for Children in Minneapolis, MN invitation to interview!!

Whew, I needed this after receiving several rejections. Dates are Jan 3rd, 8th, 9th, and 15th, various times.

Question: The person that sent me an email appears to be a "program support specialist" but it said "on behalf of Dr. ____", I'm nervous about addressing it to the wrong person. It doesn't seem as if she should be addressed Dr. ____ as her signature doesn't note that she is one. Is "Ms. _____" sufficient?

I'm probably WAYYYY over thinking this.

I don't think that you're over-thinking it at all. It's important to address people correctly. 🙂 I would double-check the person's name, if you can, through the site's website and then go from there. I just got a similar email, and that helped to relieve my anxiety. I also used "Ms." after double-checking. Congrats on the interview!!!

So, I received an interview from Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital (ABBHH) in Chicago and the date that I would be available to interview is January 21st. However, that interview date is full and I had to accept January 9th (Not ideal in the slightest).

Is there anyone who has received an interview from ABBHH on January 21st that would be willing to swtich interview days with me????

I was wondering whether anybody has heard from RAMS or Hudson Valley VA. I can't wait for these few days to be over!

I completely agree! I am compulsively refreshing my e-mail and SDN, but I feel like there is something wrong after getting so much news yesterday! Here's to us having a positive and action filled afternoon, maybe?

I am also waiting on 11 sites...out of all of them only 3 or 4 have sent out invites or rej (at least, what I've seen on here).

I applied to a lot of community MH centers....and if I know CMHCs, it's they always wait until the last minute. Just the nature of the beast I guess.

Hang in there. It is so true that all it takes as one. A quick story...Last year, a good friend of mine had a snafu with her APPI and only had one interview and it was at a tough VA. She was from another PhD program and in our practica a few of our applicants had 8-10 interviews. She came to work as they flew around the country. Everyone was afraid to say anything. Through it all, she remained so positive and kept saying - "all ya need is one." The day before match she was doing great but it eventually got the best of her, we allowed her a few libations at lunch and sent her home early. Then she matched. She was such a great example of maintaining a positive attitude. Her advice to me was: FIT. Look at what you have and what they want, and assess based on fit and that's it. I think I benefited from a lot of lab members who went before me giving me their thoughts on that.

Best of luck - I am hoping those remaining ones turn into invites!

I would not stress until the notification date on your sites has passed. Any stress before that is pure speculation, even in cases where invites or non-invites have already been extended.

Just received a personalized rejection letter from MUSC. Now down to 4 to hear from. Some rejections do not make sense. It was a great fit. but guess I have to keep looking forward.

Semi-personalized rejection from Charleston Consortium Internship Program/MUSC....that was actually a surprised (I hadn't heard anything when others have received invites, but they were doing rolling notifications and I thought I was a great match....turns out: "the Review Committee concluded that there was an insufficient match between our program and your training goals" ...smh)

Still waiting on 2 more (Saint John's CF Dev. Ctr & Children's Hosp Boston)

10 interviews, 8 rejections...not complaining overall!

Possibly review cover letter/essays to ensure you emphasized how good of a fit you were? Sometimes it may be random/sites looking for anything to narrow the pile.

I am still waiting on 7 sites but I know some have sent out both invites and rejections. Techically their dates are until th 15th. How are others handling this? I do not want to call/e-mail ahead of time, but I have been waiting to make finalized travel plans until I know for sure what my interviews are going to look like.

Nope, but honestly it does not bother me because I love the program and because it's a VA it will allow you to work and have a post doc in VA's even if its not APA, which is what I want to do. Hopefully prior to rank they get approved this way I can move it up on the list IF I get an interview.

I know I asked yesterday, but has anyone heard from the Northern CA Internship Consortium (Sutter Center for Psychiatry)?
I had a friend receive a "screening call for an interview" but I have not heard a single thing, and they are my top site.
It is totally and completely driving me insane!
Has anyone heard of sites doing pre-interview invitation screening calls with the TD?

Personalized rejection email from NYU-Bellevue (Forensic Track). Super bummed about that one. I'm sure they're swamped but it would have been nice if the TD had bothered to remove the "Mr./" before typing in my name after "Ms."
