2013 Waitlist Blues

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Thanks for both of the responses- I have been in contact with the waitlist POI who was very positive about my chances...that was a week ago. Do you suggest contacting again to ask about movement?

i'm assuming your POI knows that you are quite interested in the program? if this is the case, i would wait to follow up until next week (or maybe april 1st-ish). they probably don't have any additional information, since april 15 is still far away..

congrats on your offer! i forgot to say that in my last post! 😳

Just let go of an offer at Cleveland State Counseling PhD. Hope this helps someone.

Anyone else got accepted off the waitlist these days?

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to ask for a bit of advice in this whole waitlist process...

I am waitlisted at 2 of my schools (and one is my top choice). I am currently in a master's program and my advisor has offered to send out extra emails to these schools offering additional praise and good words for me.

Has anyone else done this? I am wondering if it is appropriate/would help my chances at all.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I'm assuming your advisor also wrote a LOR? If this is the case, the admissions committee already knows that he/she thinks you are qualified. Might be a bit redundant. Maybe a more senior member will have a different take...Not to mention that your advisor probably knows better than me 🙂

With that being said, I am also wait listed at 2 schools, with one being my top choice! I feel your pain!
