2014-2015 Underdawgs Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My AACOMAS GPAs are c3.51 | s3.78 and a 29 MCAT....not an underdog..

WesternRedCedar's Logic:
Since I'm not an underdawg, I'm going to post on underdawg thread so underdawgs can admire my stats.

It's working. I'm admiring them.

On the other hand, man, I have these two awful quarters of 2.6 GPA, but otherwise my GPA is like >3.4 every all term. Why couldn't I just keep it together for those 2 terms??? :<

My mistake,

It was intended to be a quote of the user above me, Happyfeet14:

"My cGPA and sGPA are AAMC calculated. My AACOMAS GPAs are c3.51 | s3.78"

If you looked up and gave the benefit of the doubt, you would have realized that.

So, you are faulting me when you are the one who made the mistake????

It's about sending a message.
... I wasn't going to respond, but you're rubbing me the wrong way.

I said "my mistake" being apologetic, and clarified.

Despite that, you could have easily noticed the following:

1. My stats are listed on the underdog thread, not matching that.

2. The previous 3 posts that exactly outline what I intended to quote, so for the context.

3. If you're going to try and call someone out with a snide "logic" comment, maybe at least clarify or look 1 centimeter above at the previous post? To continue trying to "send a message" is a waste of time - just like this post I am writing.

Wait, I can't comment on a mistake you made?
It's not my job to read previous posts. I read YOUR post, that said "My...." so I assumed you were talking about yourself.
That being said, I know now that you were quoting someone else and obviously my assumption was wrong. However, that wasn't clear from your original post and again, it's not my job to read every posts and make a clear picture of the conversation. That's your job by quoting previous posts correctly.
So is it that wrong I made a comment that appear "snide?"

And you think your "If you looked up and gave the benefit of the doubt, you would have realized that" is a genuine acceptance of your mistake?
Am I not allowed to question? Am I not allowed to make humorous comments?

I just want the northeast to actually not suck... ;__; My poor Celtics... and former Celtics-now-Nets...

Nets' fan because Pierce and KG went??
At least Jason Kidd got Nets to playoffs in his first year head coaching.
So irrelevant to this thread....

by the way, @WesternRedCedar and I are best buds now.

Bro, once a Celtics, always a Celtics. I don't particularly care for the Nets other than Pierce and Garnett though. Although mad props to current Celtics coach for what he's managed to do this year.

I stopped caring about NBA after Allen Iverson left but this playoff games are pretty good.

Lillard makes 3 with 0.9 sec left. Portland wins.

I found myself in a similar situation as you last year being stateless. I moved to Texas a year ago and found a job and a permanent residence. In 2 weeks I will be a Texas resident and use that during this application cycle. I am shooting for TCOM.
Wow, that's cool! TCOM is a great school. Fingers crossed I'll be your underclassman (underclasswoman?) next year! Sent you a PM.

I hope everything goes smoothly this application cycle.

So as I'm sitting at the bottom end of the GPA cutoff, I've been deciding on my final LOR and am not sure which to pursue. I have a descent pool of people to ask but am unsure of which would benefit me the most. They would each write positive things about me.

-Head of Sports Medicine (employed through my UG's med school) Know him very well on a personal level. Saw him almost every day through my athletic career ~5 years Would speak highly of myself.

-Director of Athletic Academic Services - My low GPA is based on 2 poor-semesters while i was wrapped up in some other things and she would strongly re-enforce that I am capable of handling a medical school curriculum/speak strongly to character.

-Science Faculty Professor- She is brilliant and would write me a very strong letter. Only thing is that she is the wife of the PI that I research for who is writing one of my letters. She is more professionally recognized, but they are both brilliant. However, would the same last name from 2 letters be a red flag?

Are any of these choices better? Or do I just ask them all?

Any reason to not get it from all of them if they are all good???
My school HPEC wants up to 5. I'm submitting 4, unless 5th gets it in on time.

Im here to add myself to the list:
3.5 cGPA, 3.34 sGPA MCAT (retake on 6/21, I feel like this one was just a learning experience and I wasn't on top of my game) 9/7/7 (23)

I get my MCAT retake scores back tomorrow. I'm flipping ****.

I'm taking my MCAT in 16 days. Totally flipping my ****, too.

I am really nervous too. My retake comes out today.

Just got a 28 on AAMC 5 (10/9/9) , hope I can at least repeat that on retake.

well, not necessarily. Although, I did get a mere 26 on AAMC 10 12/7/7 :/
