If you didn't get a rejection from a site that has sent out rejections is that a good sign that an interview offer may be forthcoming? Or does it just mean that they haven't gotten around to sending me the rejection?

I actually experienced this. I saw that there were rejections sent out but also invitations and I had nothing. Two days later I received a call for an invitation. Hope everything works out for you.

I really hope that this is not true! I have interviews at two sites that I have previously been a practicum student at. I've heard from a number of people in cohort that they have been denied interviews from current practicum sites (which they describe as very awkward, so I can understand a sites impulse to go ahead and just interview people), so fingers crossed!

I think it depends on the site. I know TDs at sites who have said that the practicum students get nearly the same training as interns and so they didn't have more to offer them and didn't offer even interviews - a friend of mine was discouraged from applying somewhere she had done a practicum for that reason. I have also heard of sites really wanting to build on the skills that they helped you develop on practicum, and have strongly encouraged applicants. There is likely a third set that interviews but doesn't seriously consider previous students, but I doubt that is often the case, since I imagine that interviews take a substantial amount of time, energy, and money on the part of the sites - not just the applicants. I applied to two sites I did practicum at and got interviews at both, so we'll see what camp they fall under. One is notorious for matching with previous practicum students; the other, not so much.
 
I would really appreciate everyone's opinion (especially those of you working in the field, or who elected to or elected not to select a site like this)

What's your take on a not apa accredited VA? How does matching w one affect your career? If you want to work within a VA? What are the pros and cons. I swear this is pertinent, upon awaiting an interview from one

Entirely true, I know plenty that do this. I think it's nice of them for two reasons: 1) it gives you a chance to show you fit, if you didn't before and 2) it gives you practice.

If the cost is low, this is a good outcome all around. There is no down side

Has anyone heard from the Health Track of the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA? According to the listing, it sounds like they sent out interviews, but I wonder if this was the Gero/Neuro/Rehab track rather than the Health one.

Yes. At this point I have 4, so resting a little easier over here. I was getting pretty nervous there...and a few more would be welcomed news, too! I find that the relief I feel from getting an invite lasts about 24 hours. After that, I am figuring out how I can pay $1000 in travel costs (flight + food + lodging) for some of these sites. I am sure others can relate...so bananas!

Also, wondering if anyone can tell me if the Mendota Mental Health mass email invite was for the Civil, Forensic, or Juvenile program? Or maybe all of them at once?

Congrats, I also have 4 ... and even though it's not a terrible place to be, I would feel much better with 6 or 7. Luckily, all of my places are fairly close, within driving distance, and I've managed to get afternoon interviews so costs are almost zero. No idea how folks are managing to pay for all this, it's just nuts.

It's funny the things we tell ourselves. When I had 0 I thought "I just need 1." When I got one I thought, "maybe it's a fluke, I need one more." Now I have 2 and I'm thinking, "I would feel safer if I had 4-5" lol

Invites from McLean (personal email, not sure what track specifically but I applied to adolescent and adult) and University of Arizona College of Medicine (personal email, Serious Mental Illness track) 🙂
Rejection from Franciscan Hospital (mass email) 🙁

Still looking for someone to switch UC Davis CAARE Center interview days if anyone is willing! I need the Friday 1/22 date!

Has anyone heard from Hefner VA in North Carolina? They said in their brochure that applicants would be notified by today.
 
I'm feeling a bit nervous/concerned...I still haven't heard from 11 of my sites. I know that a bunch are colleges and let you know at the very end, and one isn't until after January 1st, but some have sent out rejections and interviews and I haven't heard either. Part of me is worried that these places somehow didn't receive my AAPI (not logical thinking), but it's strange. Any reassurance and support would be very helpful right now!
 
anyone hear anything from San Quentin? I noticed it was listed as mass email interview on 12/2 but I could not find a corresponding post and I have yet to hear a peep from them.

See my post from yesterday. I was also in the same boat and feeling like they had lost my APPI because I had a similar experience. Since then, I have gotten 5 responses, most of them offers- thankfully. Hang in there!! Seems like this stuff happens, based on what others have said from previous years. Offers and rejections seem to come in waves and the waiting is the WORST. I'm still waiting to hear back from 9 of mine at this point. Good luck!!

I don't know if this helps, but I applied for the juvenile program and received a rejection this afternoon.
