Hey everyone! Figured I'd start the thread for this year-- better late than never.

Good luck!

Quick question, it is common to receive I-6 invites into early November, correct? Any idea if programs typically update with a rejection/waitlist if you have been removed from consideration, or will you just be in limbo and not hear a thing? Thanks yall!

10/22 interview invite for Michigan 01/07 so I guess the ones we haven't yet heard from are still possibilities.
I think so, haven't heard from any not listed on this thread.

Does anyone know roughly how many applications they get and how many interviews are offered?

Does anyone know roughly how many applications they get and how many interviews are offered?

Last year somewhere around 190 people applied to at least 1 I6 program. Most programs from what I understand got somewhere between 100-150 applications.

How many interviews were offered varied widely but it was between 10-40 for most programs and also depended on whether the program had 1 or 2 spots.

Also for those of you worrying, I was getting interview invites well into mid/late November last year... so don't panic (yet).

It seems like a lot of programs have already sent out invites but I haven't heard either way from most of them. I was just wondering if anyone knows whether that means I should be expecting a rejection or if they send out offers in waves.

Also, I was just wondering if anyone knew any data on how many offers would be considered a safe chance of matching. Obviously the more you can the rank the better and there are no guarantees but do most people who end up matching rank 5 programs or 15?

Starting to get nervous

Hey all,

Looking to make a 1-1 interview switch, I've got a 11/20 at UNC I'm interested in trading for the 2/12 date. PM me if interested.

and TAPVR, they seem to be going out in waves. Ive gotten a few a week or more after they went up on here, one that didn't have any spots less than 5 minutes after I got the email (which I took as a functional waitlist). But I know some are filled up, which may change as people cancel. I suppose the bright side of all these conflicting dates is that spots may open up as many are likely double booked. Hopefully.

From what I've heard from current residents, most of them ended up ranking roughly 14 places, give or take. Most of which stated that they ranked a few gen surg spots above some of the I-6 spots e.g I-6 ranked 1-5, Gen surg 6-9, I-6 10-15... That seems to be the status quo, but then again it is a very small sample size of about a dozen or so residents, so take that for what it's worth. It seems in most sub-specialties people would be excited about 8-10 interviews, but with the scant number of spots in CT, I'm not sure you can really be comfortable with any number. Best of luck bud!

Stanford sent out recently. They only offered one date in January but said they'd try to accommodate schedules. Based on previous history I suspect that they may be interviewing 2 days in December as well, but I am not positive.

Would people be willing to post their stats and what kind of interviews they're getting? I'm at the bottom quartile of my class but have okay-research and a slightly-above-avg Step 1-- really interested in the i6 but not sure what kind of risk I would be taking with regards to a possibly failed match...

The wording of Cleveland Clinic's invite does not make their reception sound at all optional (in both the attached PDF and in the ERAS message text). Can anyone offer any insight?

I replied saying I won't be attending the reception, and they acknowledged it without any fuss. Given how late their invite came, I was definitely not going to cancel another long held interview just to attend their reception.
