Can anyone tell me when finaid stuff needs to be in?
I'm also wondering about financial aid. I submitted FAFSA and then got an email from UB saying something like "we got your FAFSA and we will notify you if more info is required for your application..." They also said that awards will start to go out to new students in March.

Is there anything else we have to do?

Does anyone know how soon after interviews (especially later dates) acceptances have been given out? Are we talking days, weeks or months?

A friend interviewed late January and heard back around two weeks later. From what I've been hearing from people who interviewed past Oct. 15, during your interview day Mr. Rosso mentions a specific date on which you'll hear back.

Specific date, and specific time as well. 15 days later at 1100 EST if I remember correctly.

I have a ton of respect for the philosophy of the admissions department at Buffalo. They seemed much more invested in being ethical and transparent to their applicants than any other school I've interviewed at.

so what does silence mean? have there been pre-II rejections?
I think silence means just keep waiting. They do not evaluate applications in order and they extend interviews throughout April and then pick the class, so silence so far is a good thing. Yes it gets frustrating, trust me I know, but we must be patient and hope for the best!

Got an interview invite today! Complete late July, so there's still a chance for people complete early. And it looks like there are still plenty interviews to go around for March and April!

congrats!!

question, I know they don't have your MCAT or GPA for the interview, but do they have access to the classes you took/those individuals grades?

thanks!

I do not recall Mr. Rosso mentioning the interviewers having access to those prior to the interview, but mine was a long time ago so maybe someone else can answer that question more definitively that for you. If it helps, I was never asked about any of my classes, save for one online class that I took and listed on my secondary because it asked for it. My interviewers had notes about my application but they did not have AMCAS printout like my interviewers at other places did.

Best of luck with your interview, I hope it goes well!

How are people with LizzyM of 70-73 just getting interviews now? Doesn't really seem to add up.... everyone I know with a LizzyM of 67+ already interviewed in Oct and Nov.
They probably have a pile for students with lower stats (like myself), who they are considering interviews for at this point

I have a LizzyM over 67 and I still haven't gotten an interview

Complete since July and still silence from Buff 🙁

I remember them specifically mentioning that interviewers do not have access to your metrics (GPA, MCAT, etc.) but do familiarize themselves with the rest of your app. It was really nice getting the traditional interview style without the bias that comes with metrics. I enjoyed the fact that my interviewer was able able to ask me some thoughtful and personal questions instead of grilling me about Bs on my transcript!

First, awesome username! I recently binge watched the Knick and it's one of my favorite shows. Second, if I recall they were upfront that they do not review apps in order. I wouldn't be too worried about stats, they seem to put a lot more weight on experiences, the personal statement, and letters of recommendation during the interview, so that may also be the main areas they look into when sending out IIs.

For the current students - is having a car necessary during pre-clinical years? how about M3-M4?

Having lived in Buffalo for 5 years the answer is yes. Their clinical sites are located in the opposite directions in respect to one another. And also public transportation come supposedly each hour but they are usually late by 20 to 30 minutes.... and generally the rides take 1 hour to 1.5 hours in order to reach the major clinical sites

Thank you for letting me know! Now I have to actively look for a used car that can withstand the Buffalo winter haha

Waitlisted today. From what I gather the list is ranked and they further divide you into 1 of 3 tiers based on your post interview score. They start offering acceptances to tier 1 in very late April and early May, followed by tier 2 in late May and June, and if they make it down to tier 3 then you have chance to hear something towards the end of the summer. I pieced these estimations together by looking at past threads.

I'm on 2 waitlists with no acceptances, so I have a lot of anxious waiting to do over the next several months.

Buffalo was my best interview experience and I felt a great fit with the school, so hopefully I can make it off the list!

I think this year might come a bit earlier. probably mid April for tier 1, also for tier 2. When we interviewed (same day I'm assuming) Dr. Severin said he is planning to take people off waitlist starting early april maybe even at the end of March, which also seem right since both Dr. Severin and Mr. Rosso both said that they're not going to interview as many as previous years.
