Which btw, totally did today - it started spazzing. The computer was having a seizure. Maybe I induced that with all the refreshing.

I think (at least from what I've seen) we only get to know if the site wants us to.

AAPIC directory pages give stats on applicant numbers, towards the bottom of each site's page. I just discovered this today...can't decide if it's good or bad information to have.

Oops, if you mean current applicant numbers that depends on the site, and if they choose to disclose it.
 
Did anyone else apply to the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Fort Logan? According to the APPIC directory, they should be notifying us tomorrow. Sitting here biting my nails in anticipation.

How did you not know about this? I created a beautiful excel and grouped "competitiveness" according to application/position ratio.

Tbh I tried not to focus on competitiveness (though in hindsight maybe I should've). I spent the majority of my energy on identifying places with the specific training opportunities/fit that I wanted. Went through a huuuuuuge list of places, competitiveness wasn't something that was really on my mind. :shrug:

Samsie's I applied everywhere that I thought I had something good to offer and they could offer it back.

Yeah, I did both plus some - Competitiveness, Fit, Geographical location, Pay...I had a whole complex system. I even started my list BEFORE graduate school and researched about the internship imbalance. Collecting peer review articles and such while in graduate school.

Ok, maybe I over did it. But every second was worth it if I match to at least one of my top 3 sites.

hi guys, forum-newbie here. well i've been following this thread but am just now coming out of the dark. and by dark i mean this dark hole of obsessive email & forum checking without posting lol.

anywaaaay wanted to ask if anyone has heard from CPMC (Child and Adolescent track), or CAS/UCSF (Pediatric Psychology track) or Metrohealth (Pediatrick track)? i just gotta knowwwwww 🙁

i've had 3 rejections in the last two days and ive been taking it hard, so i could really use some good news from sites

I am waiting on cpmc and cas as well. Haven’t heard...
 
After the 5 rejections yesterday I was pretty down but then I made the decision to find a few more places that were still accepting applications and submit just to be on the safe side. For those on the beh med track, there are a few really great sites in the midwest and NYC that are still accepting apps! Onwards and upwards 🙂

Oh... I wasn't handling it well last night. I was the most dramatic and told my mom that, "All of my dreams had been crushed in one day." And she laughed haha. I think at this point we are all smart and competent but sometimes the fit just isn't there. I had to wake up this morning and do something proactive or I would have exploded. :boom:

This notification about a mass email was posted many hours before I received mine so I was certain that I was getting rejected. Just goes to show you - mass email not received doesn't always mean rejection!
