Ahhh!! I'm still waiting to hear from University of Texas - Dallas. Maybe rolling invites?? :nailbiting:

Has anyone heard yet from the Hampton VA and/or North Florida/South Georgia VA?

An aside that I thought might be helpful anyway: a. don't wear shoes you've never worn before because an overly zealous security guard will make you park half a mile away and you will have to walk half a mile in untested shoes; b. bring an umbrella and a rain jacket because it will start to rain on this walk; c. get to your interview half an hour earlier than you plan because a & b.

I got some good news today, my new suit is fat cat approved :cat:

Edit: ISO cat weight loss plans. Seriously. PM me.

This is my favorite post on this thread so far.

Seriously though, as far as diet plans: my vet told me that feeding them wet food rather than dry can help, but I would recommend asking your vet how much to feed them (like 1/2 can morning 1/2 can at night?) because it'll depend on your cat's weight I'm sure. But the reason it's supposed to work is that the wet food is more filling/more volume for fewer calories. Added bonus, can help with the dehydration/bladder crystal issues that cats are prone to. If you're already feeding wet...see if you're feeding too much? I know how hard it is to say no to those sad faces (more like demanding meows when I haven't fed enough/at the time he wants).

Almost all of my sites that I have yet to hear from have December 15th notification dates. How am I going to stay sane until then???

Same! And one of them historically didn’t send out invites UNTIL the 15th. Ugh. This whole process is a lesson in patience

Has anyone heard from the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial VA? I saw some rejections for the neuro track posted a couple weeks ago. I applied to the general track and haven't heard anything!

I am still waiting to hear from them as well....

Actually still waiting to hear from NINE sites, 8 of which have 12/15 notification dates. Kind of losing my **** over here :drowning:

Oh no! Sorry this happened to you! =\
Thank you for sharing the advice, I will now definitely plan with those things in mind. Best of luck!

Aaah not off to a good start today. I really just want one more interview. Please universe?

Mass email at 10:30 ET ("Dear Applicant")

I'm pretty bummed about this because I felt like I was a good fit. I also have a friend who is there now but I don't think that impacts whether you get invited to most places. On the bright side: At least I didn't get this rejection on my birthday yesterday?

You're already at a 95% match rate according to last year's stats. Congrats!

You're right, and I'm excited about the places I am interviewing at! I don't want to be too negative since I really am lucky and things look optimistic. I just have this weird obsession with having 7-8 interviews but realistically even a 90% match rate is pretty good odds! Just need to interview well. Thank you for the perspective 🙂

Wishing everyone good things (INVIIIIITES) on this humpday!

Also, as I prepare for interviews, I am more and more thankful that these sites don't have access to my Google search history because if they did, I'm pretty sure they'd rescind their interview offers after reading gems such as:
"How to rent a car"
"Are commuter trains and Amtrak the same thing?"
"Can you mail stuff to hotels?"
"How to tell if a coat is warm"
"Average January temperature for (city)"
(Not believing the answer to the former question) "Average January temperature for (city) in Fahrenheit"
(After confirming that Chicago is cold AF in January) "Are long johns and thermal underwear the same thing?"
"Can you wear long johns under a suit?"
"Where to buy long johns"
"Where to buy fleece-lined tights"
"Does wearing a face mask on a plane reduce chance of getting sick?"
"Small talk topics for (city)"
"Major sports teams in (city)"

I feel you about the “just one more invite” affliction I too suffer from. It’s a condition where no matter how many interviews you have, you feel like just one more will make everything alright.

By the way, yeah you’re killing it and are doing well, so it’s the site’s loss on not picking you today!

UNIQLO has the best warm layers - their Heattech tops and bottoms are as thin as stockings and warm as heck. Love them! Online purchase.

This is the best real talk post I've ever seen (that I remember in this moment) and I love it.

Congrats! Do you mind sharing if this email was track-specific or more general? Eagerly awaiting a response from them =)

Update: NVM. Rejection just came in. Still congrats on your interview!
UGH, I am sincerely sorry to hear that. I'll do something mean while I'm there in your honor. Like put a banana peel somewhere sneaky so someone's office smells like banana all day but they don't know why.

Thanks for the pro tips! My vet and I came up with a great portion control + exercise plan, but somehow my cat defies the science of a "calories in < calories out" approach. Unfortunately she scarfs down wet food in 2 seconds and is still hungry, whereas she'll eat half of her dry food and leave it. It may be time to splurge for the expensive meat-based food (another #forumfam member suggested ziwipeak). She looks sweet and innocent but despite her obesity can strike faster than a mongoose when she's unhappy... I would almost trade demanding meows for ankle-nipping ambushes, but I've gotten pretty good at dodging them 😀

For anyone who expected this to be an update on interviews, sorry. My cat's future health is on the line.

LYRICS from Violet by Hole:
“And the sky was made of amethyst
And all the stars were just like little fish
You should learn when to go
You should learn how to say no
Might last a day, yeah
Mine is forever
Might last a day, yeah
Mine is forever
Well they get what they want, and they never want it again
Well they get what they want, and they never want it again
Go on, take everything, take everything, I want you to
Go on, take everything, take everything, I want you to
And the sky was all violet
I want to give the violent more violets
And I'm the one with no soul
One above and one below
Might last a day, yeah
Mine is forever
Might last a day, yeah
Mine is forever
When they get what they want, and they never want it again
And they get what they want, and they never want it again
Go on, take everything, take everything, I want you to
Go on, take everything, take everything, I dare you to
I told you from the start just how this would end
When I get what I want, then I never want it again
Go on take everything, take everything, I want you to
Go on take everything, take everything I want you to
If I don't mind you don't mind
Go on take everything, take everything, I want you to
Go on take everything, take everything I want you to
Go on take everything, take everything, I want you to
Go on take everything, take everything, take everything, take everything”
I feel like this song very aptly described the emotional ringer that this process put you through

Haha thank you! My mind is certainly boggled - I definitely did not expect this reception (which is why I applied to 23 sites in the first place). I've gotten so many interview invitations I have had to reject a few. #humblebrag

Seriously! You are on fire congrats on all the interviews I hope everything goes well you get your top site!

If & How You’re Staying Sane: Buying overpriced items online and then becoming increasingly worried about my accruing debt. Vicious cycle.

I'm exactly where you are. I have 6 invites, and I really want that 7th interview. But you are right- making the most of the interviews we have is the most important thing. 🙂

Looks like a mass email. The email is addressed to "Hello" and the attached letter is "Dear prospective intern"

I see that now. I swear it wasn't there when you posted. Did you edit it? lol Also, darn. Also also, CONGRATS!! =)
