2019-2020 Rush

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
you call the switch board and ask specifically, generally I have had to leave a message and they call back (im an accepted students who had to fill out paperwork). That's how I have had to do it. Also there is still a chance of a last minute interview. Also plan to enroll opened up today so there may be people making decisions and evaluating life options. Best of luck
To be fair schools cant see PTE until April 30th. So that has no impact on IIs.

It’s my understanding that schools can see how many students planned to enroll at their school but not who the students are. I think PTE is to help adcoms get an idea as to how many students are planning to matriculate at their own school.

is there a phone number i can call for their office of admissions? i cant seem to find it

(312) 942-7100, then use the prompt to get to the Medical College. I agree with the above poster that voicemail might be the best option. It took me 3 days of calling before I managed to actually speak with someone.

so if they gave out their last IIs, what about ppl who are still "under review"? (unless im the only one)
Well, when when accepted people withdraw their application, or Waitlisted students who dont plan to enroll because they are already accepted to their top choice school (dont know why they dont just withdraw then), then more spots will open up

PTE will not affect remaining II that’s simply not true.

Correct helps with waitlist not II distribution

Anybody know how I can get access to the fb group? Was accepted a couple weeks ago, but haven't received a password.

they email you a link eventually, it takes a bit of time though, I think I was in a month prior but idk how long it takes now

Wait hold up did accepted students have to fill out paperwork? I hadn’t received any info about this

did anyone got accepted from waitlist yet? I feel like waitlist is just rejetion...silent since dec

Do you mean waitlist or active consideration? On my interview day, Jill mentioned that WL movement doesn't really happen until April. You can browse through previous years' threads too.

If you read the thread, i believe some lucky students were accepted from Active Consideration this year (in jan i think). Some were shifted to the waitlist and some remained on Active Consideration

Correct, Case western podcast. However I was under the impression this person was referring to POST II since it’s so late in the season. Also you should never compare rush and Loyola. Loyola is extremely unique in their openness and value on communication. They’re one of the few schools left in the country that really respond to letters of intent etc. and essentially he just said he would take another look at your file.

If this is for post II there is a 0 percent chance it has any impact, and there really aren’t many interview invites left (probably 0-10). So if this is about Pre II interview invites are pretty much done, and if post II definitely has 0 impact.

0 impact? You speak with such authority. Are you secretly on the admissions committee for Rush and not telling any of us?

YES-- lmao except for like 5 people on here, were all just speculating and thats my opinion and my expereince having been on waitlists last year and speaking to the adcoms at my WL schools for a reapp evaluation. I had a few people call, send emails and each school said yeah at that point it is really not gonna change much. I am willing to be ONE DOLLAR if you called rush and ask they would say don't bother.

Ill make it 1 percent if ur person calling is on the board of trustees. Im saying regardless of nepotism.

yeah my b on that one, but you are correct. Last interview is the 26th anyways of next week if I am not mistaken.

you just have to pay your 100 dollars, the rest of the stuff is on the accepted students page. Its just stuff like fafsa, certiphy screen ect. but the list is all there

The reality is these advocacy phone calls don’t do much unless there’s an advocacy donation that goes with them 😉

My father' roomate at Stanford Med is the department chair at a med school, his own LOR and email didn't help at all. As for interviews, I don't think that dropping out will encourage new interviews. They interview only who they want.

Apparently it’s supposed to be snowing pretty heavily starting tomorrow in Chicago.. Come prepared haha

Any idea what typically happens at Rush when it snows like this?

I guess I can always call the admissions office to check for updates, but man it would suck to have interviews canceled.

Hopefully nothing much will change since most of the interview day is inside! They had a shuttle to take us to the different hospitals for tours but other than that we stayed in the same building for most of the day. I’m sure they’ve had experience dealing with snowy interview days and know how to handle them without much change 🙂

Does Rush Student Hosting also pair us with students for Second Look Day?

I took a surprise flight to get here a day early because of the supposed snow haha

So now Imma just chill, go explore the med school a bit, and watch the fiasco that will be the Democratic debate lol

Plus side I got to enjoy the places delicious pizza

I think so. They said that a recording would be provided via email later this week for people like me, who couldn't make it--hopefully that is open to everyone!
Ahhh I see okay thank you!! Still waiting on my decision so hopefully they provide it to people who are accepted later too 🙂

Has anyone received a confirmation that their FAFSA was received by Rush?
Yea actually I was very confused by this and plan on emailing them lol. I haven’t gotten any confirmation or request for additional documents and the priority deadline is Mar 1

At my interview recently they said their financial aid office is not up and running quite yet but they hope to start processing everything within the first few weeks of March!

Any guesses of the end time for second look? They haven’t sent out the formal invitation yet but I’m trying to book flights ASAP. I tried calling but the person who answered had no idea.

They said they would send out the formal invite soon so hopefully that comes with the finaid packages next week.

I wish they would let us know already! Its frustrating not knowing where we'll be moving to in a few months...

I have not

When I was put on active consideration I got the news at 12pm EST. Looks like it's been different on different days. Also hoping to get some good news today!
