Hello! I thought this would be easier than adding people to a convo. But as a recap we kind of realized that it would be easier and more direct to email admin at the program to see if they sent out their second 5 acceptances. The stats of it all make it most likely that they have, but, confirmation is closure 🙂

Hmm I also got no reply so far, let's give it another week? Something that I noticed too was that the C-B website has also been down for some time, IDK if that's just a coincidence or what

I honestly have no idea what they meant when they said "shortly." I assumed it meant < 5 business days but it seems like at least another week of waiting is likely. I mean either way it looks like they'll tell us of some kind of update. But if anyone would be interested, we might get a more clear estimate if someone emailed Dr. Brennan or Dr. Weil directly. I would do it, but I already reached out once and don't wanna be nagging lol

I was thinking it means they haven’t sent out any decisions yet? Including acceptances?

That’s also what I understood at the interview. I thought they also said that they had already decided on the first five.
 
I was accepted for the regular MD program, waitlist for Bassett! The Bassett email came two min after the regular MD email.

Does anybody have any idea how many people are on the waitlist?

Congratulations!! What time did you get the email??

From my understanding during the interview day, Bassett doesn't reject people. I think they accept their 10 people, then everyone else is waitlisted as long as they got into or were waitlisted from the main program. It's super confusing

Ah okay, so chances of getting off the waitlist are probably pretty low—thank you though!!! The emails came around 11:45 EST.

this crossed my mind. in my interview the current students said Bassett likes to call with A's so maybe they still will even tho VPS isn't?
 
It’d be nice if all schools could just send out emails to their whole applicant pool at once. It would prevent so much anxiety and distraction.

I know omg, like to be fair if I were less neurotic I'd be going about my day not on SDN and have no idea decisions are coming out but alas

I don't want this to be true but it makes sense. I remember when I interviewed that it seemed like when you are applying to Basset a bunch of things are done manually, so I wonder if they're just setting up their system/portal to explain how we've been double waitlisted (since I guess we can't be rejected, since Bassett doesn't reject?)

Yeah that does make sense, actually! So I guess I would bet we all fall into 1 of 2 buckets, accepted to Bassett or WL at both. But this is all just a guess :/
