UTSA should provide refunds in this case
Absolute garbage. Did not know they can pull out like that. B.S
UTSA should provide refunds in this case
which ones?I heard several programs will be basically filling from within due to COVID
Where are these channels? There are channels to report ERAS concerns. This may be one worthwhile.
Thats fine, but a refund would still be warranted.I don't think it's fair to blame UTSA. Applications opened up in November. The pandemic didn't hit us until the middle of March. It's not like programs could've predicted this.
But they could have stayed in the match knowing they were going to only take in house applicants due to COVID, so them letting us know early let’s you know you won’t match there and can not keep them as a possible match. So we can focus on other programs and not waste an interview?Thats fine, but a refund would still be warranted.
which ones?
i don't know the names but a friend at another institution who matched internally, was told by a fellow there that due to COVID, programs with a high number of internal applicants may just take all internal but i cannot guarantee how accurate this is. But it may be why many people are not getting as many interviews this year, as normal bc places know who they are going to take so they are not sending invites?^^^^^

Same here, hope we hear one way or another soonI didn't have invite or reject from UTSW, it seems that I am on the waiting list or silently rejected?

anyone got any confirmation from cedars-sinai? They asked for preference date and then never heard back from them. Did they end up just filling the spots with internal applicants too?
Yeah from what I recall, UCLA is the one that will fill outside the match, maybe not solely with internal applicants though
What do people think about the zoom interviews?
I sort of feel like it is really hard to 'give a good impression' or 'stand out' versus doing a face-to-face interview. I kind of leave the interview having no way of knowing how I did or how I stand with the program. With in person interviews I could usually tell by the tone how things were going or if I fit in with the program or not. I don't really feel anything after the zoom interview.
same here, I haven't gotten one in a while.Agree. I feel like my personality is not shining and everything is forced. Also can a brother get some interviews! Is it as quiet for everyone else? I am assuming 65 percent of interviews have been given out based on the list. Is anyone else finding it hard to get invites or am I the only one.

Call them?Still no confirmation from cedars-sinai, interview date of choice is May 1. Oh well, I guess this means no interview.

Yeah, it messed up my schedule as I had to use up a "non-clinical" day. Oh wellRE Cedars-Sinai. Also requested this date. Also have not heard back anything despite multiple emails/phone calls . Would have been nice if they had at least told us they couldn't interview us anymore.

as long as you confirm on thalamus, I remember getting the email with the link for zoom the day before the interview.anyone interviewing at Rush on 5/2 get a link to the interview or some kind of schedule yet?
Probably depends on how many internal applicants, but 5-10 applicants per spot is a good range.Hey does anyone have any idea how many applicants typically interview at a program? I’m sure it is variable per program but I had heard rule of thumb was approximately 10 interviewees per spot
i know one has 21 for 5 spotsProbably depends on how many internal applicants, but 5-10 applicants per spot is a good range.
