Hey! I've applied to eight positions so far with one interview (private practice in NYC). Most of my deadlines either just happened or haven't happened yet though. I'm planning on applying to at least four more. I have been told by my TD that 6-10 is average, but I am extra apps don't cost money this time.

Sorry, no. This was for three of the 1-year clinical positions. I believe these all went out at the same time.

I spoke with someone yesterday who was still waiting to hear from the neuro track, so it does not sound like they’ve gone out yet!

I’ve applied to 5 sites and 9 positions overall. I think my only concern for you would be if you would potentially want to live in a state that requires a formal postdoc. I thought about other options instead (employment mainly) but then learned one of the states I could potentially see myself living in requires a formal postdoc. So check those state boards!

I have applied to 9 programs. I have been told to apply to 5-8 programs to be safe. Most of the post-docs I have talked to at my site got interviews to about half of the programs they applied to.

I asked three of the current post-docs at my site and for the most part they said it is common to get rejections rather than ghosting, but some people said smaller sites did ghost them and they had to reach out to figure out if they were still being considered.

When I applied a few years ago, nearly all sites emailed/called to inform me of their decision one way or another. I think it is definitely more common to hear something rather than ghosting.

Is anyone applying to NYU Child Study Center? If so, what constitutes an "evaluation report?" I'm not sure if they are asking for a psychodiagnostic evaluation or a treatment summary. I emailed asking, but have not heard back yet and I want to submit my applications as soon as possible. If not, I figure I'll submit both, but I don't want to look like I can't follow directions.

Hey! I am applying to 5 postdocs all together at a total of 4 sites. The 4-5 seems to be the norm for everyone in my cohort as well.
