How do WL acceptances work during the cycle? I thought it is typically after they fill give all acceptances then if ppl decline their acceptance, they move others off the WL?

if I am interviewing in mid-November, would I be just interviewing for the spot on the WL? idk, I get the sense class is already almost filled. KCU is fast-paced!

The cycle is still early! Accepted student group only has like 50 people, be confident, be yourself, and you’re gonna ace it!

Only 55 people in the accepted students group me. Even if only half of the accepted students are in the group me, they haven’t even filled half the class yet. There are soooo many open seats. Do not shoot yourself in the foot prematurely. You got this!

Anybody know if KCU gives out scholarship offers before December? That would be a game changer for me if they start giving them out before the $1000 deposit is due. I'm leaning more toward PCOM GA campus right now because it's much closer to family. But I really like KCU's P/F grading, regular semester system, history, and Kansas City itself. Clinical rotations are probably much better too. These two schools both have a similar cost of attendance. I'm not sure how it is to live by Atlanta, but it's probably not quite as nice as KC

For the A off the WL how does that work during the cycle? I thought WL movement starts in spring

I think the WL is already moving because students with MD acceptances last week are withdrawing. That's just my speculation though.

Does anyone have any advice for interview prep? I'm also a little confused on the format lol is it mmi/traditional or open/closed file? Ik we have to sign an NDA but just asking for general advice. Thanks sm!

Oh okay that makes sense! I was just confused because in the Interview they said WL movement starts in May

For those Accepted, how long do you have to accept the offer / make deposit?

Anyone coming to campus tour in Joplin on Nov.4th? Would love to meet!

Has anyone from the 10/24 interview received a decision?
Just checked my portal, got the A! I haven't received an official email yet, but got the "Complete Action Item: COM Accept Deposit" as an incomplete item on the portal. You should probably check your portal, it might me there.

Yes! Also, at the top of the portal it saids "Accepted. Congratulations on your acceptance to KCU! You should receive additional communication from the Office of Admissions outlining next steps." Also shows which Campus I got accepted into!

Interviewed 10/17. still nothing. does this mean they aren’t sending As out for that date anymore?

You don't have to share at all, but if you feel comfortable with it could you share your stats

I interviewed before 10/24 but haven't received anything, does that mean it's more likely to be a rejection at this point?

Definitely not! They said it could take anywhere up to 6 weeks to hear back! They also specifically mentioned to not worry if people who interviewed after you hear back sooner, that it doesn't mean anything. Wishing the best of luck for you!

If there are any current KCU students reading this, how do y'all prepare for surgery competitiveness? Based on the school website, there is only basic science research. So how do first and 2nd year students get involved in surgery specific research? I am assuming there is definitely a way as KCU gets a decent amount of surgery matches every year. Any advice would be appreciated!

Definitely top 5. It goes MSU then Rowan, KCU, DMU, and PCOM PA to fill out the rest in no specific order.

Just curious, where is this ranking from?
I think it's a rating from @That Guy 20125 !!
In my biased opinion TCOM should make the top 5 DO school list
That being said, I dislike USNWR ratings and think the best school for you is dependent on a lot of factors.
