What’s the best way to submit updates after we’ve been waitlisted? Is it that same portal they gave us a while back or is there a new one?If you are waitlisted and Einstein is really your top choice, I would recommend communicating this to adcom!
would email dean kerrigan if you have an update (but not more than like ~1x month unless you have a significant update)What’s the best way to submit updates after we’ve been waitlisted? Is it that same portal they gave us a while back or is there a new one?
site visit went well, basically we will get re evaluated in June-ish, tldr there is simply no way the school got worse, but it's like remotely possible we don't have enough data (yet) to prove changes/improvements are good (they are but sometimes LCME wants like 2 years of data, which would be impossible in the reevaluation time frame) so worst case we continue for another year of more monitoring... but basically I really really would not factor this into decision making... (though if you really think about it, it's honestly good that the school is more aggressive in fixing problems rn!)does anybody know if there are any updates re: the LCME accreditation? i heard the site visit was in february but they didn't mention anything about how it went at the dean's chat tn ;-; would love if a current student could chime in!
historically rolling admissions was a better indicator of potential admission over "wait list" however I am not sure if this will be consistent with this yearThank you so much for this message!!! :')
Based on your experience/your classmates' experiences, could you possibly explain the distinction between those who received "rolling admissions" emails vs "waitlist" emails? Does this mean "rolling admissions" people will hear back sooner? struggling to understand what the difference is between these statuses, and how that impacts future notifications/timeline and such
the class size is 165, the 120 is fake news 🙂 !do we know how many seats have been filled so far? someone said there's only 120 this year so :\
My interviewer who is also a department chair told me this year’s class size was being reduced slightly. He mentioned a similar guesstimate of ~160 students this cycle, instead of their typical average of ~170. I believe the med student is correctAre you sure about that? I have it on decent authority that they reduced the class size this year for the first time. Happy to be wrong and rescind my comment about this...
I apologize for the misinformation if I'm wrong!
That's honestly wonderful to hear! Thanks for the update, I'll delete my comment. there is a discord, admissions will send a link if they havent yetDoes anyone know if there is an accepted students groupme or anything of that sort?
This is the first time i've heard of a med school discord and I am all for itthere is a discord, admissions will send a link if they havent yet
Mine was super chill the doc was really nice, i got WL thoughfor anyone thats interviewed here, whats the general interview vibe like?
What do you mean an intermediate decision?Did everyone receive an email Feb 1 on an intermediate decision? Realizing I've had radio silence this entire cycle and not knowing what to think....
I had seen on the front of the application portal that "Applicants are notified of their intermediate or final disposition beginning February 1." Honestly not sure what they meant by it either other than that....What do you mean an intermediate decision?
there's no real gauge, but historically the adcom sends batches early in each month until it gets to mid may, and then it can be whenever randomly a seat opensdoes anyone know the expected timeline for decisions if you interviewed in the last 1-2 weeks?
Seems like Aprildoes anyone know the expected timeline for decisions if you interviewed in the last 1-2 weeks?
Someone posted here that a school must give enough acceptances to fill their prospective class by March 15th. Assuming that they didn't accept 160+ people on March 5th, they will need to do something this week to reach that mark. This is a real rule, so the only way in which they wouldn't send out more acceptances is if they already admitted the entire class and everyone else is going on WL or R (I have no idea how many ppl were accepted last week).is einstein still giving out acceptances next wave? it seems not many received an A this time around compared to past years where they gave out all their A's first wave
Based on all the publicly available information I can find (SDN, admit.org, attendance numbers at admitted student sessions and on the student discord), i don't think their class is currently full. I could be wrong, but I'm interested in seeing what happens in the next few daysSomeone posted here that a school must give enough acceptances to fill their prospective class by March 15th.
