Anybody else running into a “403 error” when trying to submit the secondary?

Please contact A&M admissions for these types of technical errors.
if you haven't been sent an email from A&M yet inviting you to complete the secondary, that could be the issue.

I got the invite email so it shouldn’t be that. I’ll reach out to them, thanks!

Texas A&M does not utilize CASPer scores.

Here are the TMDSAS schools requiring CASPer and/or Duet:
1 Baylor
2 McGovern
3 Texas Tech El Paso
4 UT Tyler (CASPer + Duet)
5 Long
6 UTMB (CASPer + Duet)
7 UTSW
8 SHSU (CASPer + Duet)

Also TCU (AMCAS) requires CASPer

Sam Houston too right?

Any idea of how TAMU feels about locals? Or do they prefer people from all over Texas?

whats a local - attending or living close?
Sorry, I should have expanded. A person born and raised there, including going there for undergrad in my case.

I’m a nontrad in the community working as a nurse, but I’ve heard how some Texas schools want people from all over so they can go back out and make more docs all over the state.

There are a couple of schools that give preference to locals - UTRGV and UT Tyler which prefer to recruit people from surrounding areas hoping they can be convinced to stick around after becoming doctors. Others dont have a particular need to be regional and try to fulfill the state mandated 90% from instate applicants.
A&M is not known to prefer their own students. I have come across students with 4.0/515 that have not received interviews primarily because they have had sufficient numbers coming in from combined programs as A&M representatives.

This makes sense. Thank you for the information. Oddly, I’ve never talked with a TAMU student about admissions. Because when I worked in the hospitals I wasn’t pursuing medicine as heavily as I am now.

Probably will help more than hurt; but probably won't make a huge difference either way

What is the Medical Scholars Research Pathway Program. I have looked all online and there is minimal about it. Does it cost more money? Does it add years to medical school?

I tried searching and could only find reference to this program from 2019 to 2021.
It's possible it has been renamed or reorganized?

I did find this page about different "Distinctions" a medical student can work towards during their 4 years of med school and one of those is a research distinction.

Interesting thank you. The secondary is asking if I'm interested in the program, so I don't know what to answer. I will be involved in research in medical school, so I am leaning towards me saying yes.

Hey is question 4 more geared towards medical specialties (internal medicine, surgery, etc) or career paths (academic medicine or public health) Thx!

You could always email the indicated person to ask! I am sure they would be happy to provide more info.

How are y'all going about prompt 3? Is this just another way of asking for a "challenge/hardship" or "time you failed" essay? The examples they give are so extreme, I just don't really have anything like those examples to write about. Kind of lost about what to write about.

Does anyone know if TAMU is geared more toward IM, ER, FM or varied?

By the way, for those that qualify for AMCAS FAP (400% Federal Poverty Level), A&M only gives Fee Waivers to those below 100% FPL. I emailed them and they gave me a waiver form that specified the 100% FPL.

For the first prompt, when they say multicultural communities, are they talking about explicitly other cultures? Or can we talk about working with people with different backgrounds in terms of other aspects such as socioeconomic status for example?

Correct. They had used it for several years but decided it didn’t add to or influence their admissions decisions after all.
thanks for clarifying. i deleted after i saw the earlier comment above saying it was removed.

Is it too late for me (an OOS) to add this school to my AMCAS today? I didn't know they would send out secondaries so early ahhh

Texas A & M uses the TMDSAS application, unless you are applying to the MD/PhD program , or to EnMed which also allows you to apply with AMCAS

Gotcha, thanks! If I want to do EnMed and apply through AMCAS is it too late?

Would it be too late if applied through TMDSAS? Will probably sen my application today but I'm oos, and would rather save the money if too late for secondaries
An application submitted today will probably be verified in about a month.
Successful OOS applicants to TMDSAS don't have to prove any ties to Texas, but usually have stats above the average of matriculants (3.84, 511) or have a particular mission fit like primary care, care of border population, or research at the schools valuing that.

Oh sorry I meant to submit secondary. My TMDSAS primary was verified already. I got the secondary 7 days ago. Not sure if July secondary submission would basically ruin my chances. I saw some interview invites already made
