I'm not sure if the 110k is too much to pay to go to UCSF over my State School. I really want to look into specializing and love the community dentistry aspect of UCSF, but this decision is seemingly a difficult one.

Work hard and specialize from the cheaper school. 👍

You can specialize from any school. Don't add 110k plus interest onto your bill. If you go to UCSF your loan will be over 400k before you even graduate, due to interest.

This is an easy choice tbh. With that difference in cost, the only schools I would consider are ivies and even then I'd be hesitant to pay that much more to go to an Ivy over my state school

Ask yourself would you rather have 110k in cash + going to the cheap school, or would you rather go to UCSF. In the end this is basically what you are deciding.

I actually went against my advice and chose my state school, but that is because I wanted a dual program.
