Hello folks,
I know that I must retake MCAT but I am just wondering if I have any chances if I don't ...applying to MD only.
I have tons of clinical experience. Here is an overview:
Volunteering:
- Family practice as a Medical Assistant (MA) for 3 years now
- Fire Station as an EMT for 2 years
- Free Clinical as an MA for 1 year
- Currently work as a part time MA in a surgeon's office (started in Feb)
- Shadowed a surgeon for 1 month (in his office and in OR)

- working on an individual research project since summer 2009.

- upward GPA trend + in honors program

- MCAT (8 ps 6 vr 9 bs)

Thanks

AAMC data suggests chances with a 3.66/23 are about 18%, but I expect it won't be that high unless you're applying to Puerto Rican schools, one of the Historically Black Medical Colleges, or have some unmentioned extraordinary modifying factor that would change the way adcomms look at your stats.

You don't. You have to retake the MCAT and score higher. Period. Full stop. Don't apply MD-only this cycle if you are only going to show adcoms your current MCAT score. It will be a waste of valuable time and money.
