I emailed Toledo for the average GPA and this was their response:

The average GPA that got in this year was a 3.94. We do allow transfer students to establish a new cumulative GPA here with us, if you take 30 graded hours before applying to the professional division, if needed.

They have GOT to be kidding right??? 3.94 is the average?? So everyone who got in had like 3.9 to 4.0? Does anyone know if this is true.

I do believe that. Albany COP just goes by GPA.

And maybe Toledo basically takes their own students.

I would rather go to Ohio State, and not Toledo anyhow!!

I don't think 3.94 is the average GPA as indicated in the response. It is hardcore to get a 3.94

This is true the average GPA last year of students accpeted was 3.9 i know believe me. 3.9 is outstanding and they dont require a pcat. It is correct that you need 30 hours here to apply. haha 3.9 yes thats exactly what you need, you have to be a really good to get in, and to stay in with a 3.2, and its not easy.

Besides Toledo, any other pharm schools have their cut off at 3.9? It is not an easy job maintaining it. For those who did, you earned my respect.

Duquesne also has a 3.9 GPA average as well.

For Toledo, if your grades are that good, you should go to Ohio State. Maybe pharmacy is strong at Toledo, but Ohio State has a stronger reputation as a university.

That is unless, you had the following scenario:

you have 30 credits of a 4.0 but have not taken organic chemistry and hence cannot take the PCAT. Then it would be ideal to apply to a school like this, since you then could get in.

This school is good for community college students who took 30- 50 hours. Average 3.94 GPA doesn't mean that their students are better than other students at other schools. I have several friends who had 3.9-4.0 GPA, and transfered to University of Califorina. They have had a hard time to keep their GPA at 3.0-3.5 at UC schools.

the reason that Teldo has a high GPA, its because they accept most of their pahrm.D. students from their own school, therfore they have a very small sopt for transfer students.

Isn't Toledo a 0-6 program? Surely the 3.94 average MUST be for those coming straight from highschool (unless the space for transfers really is THAT tight that only applicants which are exceptionally qualified for admission receive offers).
