3 years out - officially a millionaire and one step closer to saying goodbye to EM

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It's incredible. I was oblivious to that type of advantage until I was in residency. I literally had hot women 10+ yrs younger than I that were making advances; they got disappointed when I let them know that I am happily married.

Bro I thought being divorced with kids would be game over but turns out it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

There's was a comment above about your money working harder than you do. That struck me, because even at my paltry 1M of stocks compared to you richie rich dads, a +0.25% day in SPY results in more money for me than a shift. Especially after taxes!

Really speaks to how savings rate is key.

Saving at least 20% of gross / yr of EM salary WILL buy you freedom eventually.

if you have money, it’s definitely not game over. There’s a surprisingly high demand for older men in their 30s and 40s by very young women who just want to be treated well (restaurants, vacations, shopping etc).
