Well friends, it is almost July, which is when ERAS will open. The worksheet of info you will need is already online (the applicant manual appears to be late). By this time, we should have:
[ ] confirmed or denied interest in EM as a field
[ ] Joined SAEM, ACEP, and EMIG (see SAEM recs)
[ ] an away rotation scheduled
[ ] an up-to-date CV
[ ] a personal statement for letter writers
[ ] an EM sub-I scheduled, completed, or underway
[ ] a person or two outside of EM approached for LORs
[ ] started the registration process for Step 2 CS, which fills up fast and early
Upcoming stuff includes:
[ ] polishing the personal statement
[ ] a professional picture for ERAS
[ ] Reviewing the applicant manual and MyEras
[ ] obtaining SLORs from EM sub-Is
[ ] Selecting at least 20 programs to apply to
Also, if anyone out there has tips for us hopefuls, please share! 👍
