Hi!

I just applied for this 2019 cycle and I would greatly appreciate some input as to which schools to strike from my current list and which schools to add.

I'm interested in going to school in California, but I know that's a pretty tough sell for OOS students. Particularly those who do not belong to under-represented groups in medicine. What are my odds?

In general, I'm primarily leaning in schools in city areas, the ones I'm very interested in are bolded below. The Baylor College of Medicine is my top choice, what do ya'll think about my odds there? I didn't take Spanish in college, which I know is something they favor.

Medical students and other people who have applied to medical school, please help!

Personal Information:
Female, Asian, Texas resident, attended a public university out of state

Academic Background:
GPA: 3.97
MCAT: 519 (130/130/131/128)
Honors student

Extracurricular Background:
- Lots of leadership across a couple organizations (roughly 9 positions held in total)
- Maybe 500-600 hours of clinical experience/community service? Hard to say
- Chemistry tutor, EMT, CPR instructor, participated in a medical service trip abroad
- 3000 hours of research, 2 publications underway

Current List of Schools:
Baylor College of Medicine

UT Southwestern Medical Center
University of Chicago The Pritzker School of Medicine
Northwestern University The Feinberg School of Medicine

McGovern Medical School at UT (Houston)

University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health
Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine
Yale School of Medicine
Rush Medical College of Rush University Medical Center
Vanderbilt University School of Medicine
Emory University School of Medicine
Stanford University School of Medicine

Removed Schools (mostly due to OOS):

University of Colorado School of Medicine
University of Massachusetts Medical School
Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine
University of Washington School of Medicine

Considering Adding:
Harvard
UCSF
UCSD

Any help or suggestions would be incredible. Thank you so much!

You have already made a thread asking for advice on this issue.

Instead of creating a new thread it would be better to bump your old thread.
You can bump your thread by replying to your thread with the word "bump" this will bring it back up in the "What are my chances section"
