"Okay, now what? Wait until tomorrow, or do you want to forget all about it again?" Carly asked,
"No, not anything like that." Nick thought for a moment.
"Here, hold this." He handed her the film bag and looked at the gas station.
"I'll be right back. I'm just going to go inside and ask him a question." He started walking towards the gas station's mini mart.
"Okay. I guess I'll stay here."
She just stood in the parking lot, pulling her arms across her body to stay warm, and watched the cars go by.
A couple minutes passed before he re-emerged.
"I asked him if he knew of any drug stores in the area, because that's another place to take our film. He said not in this neighborhood, but in Central Seattle or Capitol Hill, there are several. I have money so I think we can just hop on a bus. Ok?"
"Sure. Lead the way."
They headed down the side walk until they came to a bus stop. The schedule and routes were posted on the pole. They had no sense of what time it was, so it was just a matter of waiting. The first one that came by stopped and they merely grabbed a route map, but Nick assured Carly that it wasn't going the right direction. They another bus pass a few minutes later. Finally, the third bus was the one that they needed.
It took them to Capitol Hill, a premier party neighborhood, but fortunately the worker at the mini mart was right about the drugstores. Carly pulled the wire to signal to the driver as soon as she saw one. It was just a few blocks down from where they got off.
Outside the Riteaid they advertised one-hour photos. It seemed too good to be true.
Yet, when they went inside to the photo counter, they accepted the film on the spot.
"Technically, we shut down over here at five, but these should be done by five fifth-teen, so that's going to be alright. Just come back promptly if you want to pick them up tonight, okay?"

While they waited, they wandered around Capitol Hill to explore. There were a lot of bars and seemingly niche restaurants. The people on the streets seemed very casual and relaxed, but most of them were leaning against the building walls smoking, which gave the neighborhood a very dirty vibe.
They were glad to be able to return in just an hour and get the heck out of there.
The photos were ready right on time. Carly was sweating profusely as they clerk handed the envelope of photos to Nick.
"Well? What are they?"
"Okay, let's... take a look."
He pulled them out.
At first, it seemed like they'd be unimportant. There were several photos taken outside: random trees, light posts, a few signs here and there, and then a few of the Space Needle interior. Then, they got to the end of the stack..
"Oh my god. That's it!" Carly exclaimed.
It was a picture of the time machine.
"Wow. You're right."
He went to the next photo. It depicted the time machine as well, but in the background there was a shady figure, placing toys down on to the floor...
"What do you think is going on there?" Carly asked,
"I don't know, but we better go back and take another look."
