Day 7: The End

1788658330075.png

Brian Dutton immediately installed himself as the ringleader of guests. From the moment they all walked in, everyone looked to him for direction.

Dutton is quiet and sarcastic. He is a vain and contemptuous man who would do anything to achieve his goals and would justify any immoral actions he might have caused to be just survival of the fittest. Above all of his flaws, his greatest sin is Envy.

And Envy is the reason that Dutton accepted Stauf's invitation. Envy for Stauf's wealth, fame, and success. And besides, anyone could tell that Stauf was only out for himself--bringing Stauf down was for the greater good.

The only question was whether Dutton was here to bring down Stauf to end the nightmare once and for all, or to take ownership over the power that Stauf had wielded.

Whatever the truth, Tad felt certain that he recognized the same evil he had seen from Stauf in Dutton. Despite some reservations, everyone understood they needed to follow along with Tad--the only one among them that they could be certain was pure. Despite Dutton pushing suspicion onto one other guest, one by one the consensus fell upon Dutton. And as the clock resounded, Brian looked on angrily at his companions, indignant that they would take away what was rightfully his. Nevertheless, the house was coming for him, inexorable as always.

Strangely, despite some odd behavior near the end, nobody bothered to investigate the 4th remaining guest...

Thank you mods @GoSpursGo @WildZoo @kaydubs for such a fun game!!

I'm proud of us village (and clem lol) - what a comeback!

And fantastic job to the wolves! I think a best wolf pack Awwards nomination is in order. You three certainly kept us on our toes!

First of all: A huge THANK YOU to @WildZoo and @kaydubs . I needed your help to balance this game, and I think it turned out well!

Huge congratulations to @chilly_md , @Black Kat and @Animal Midwife --you guys truly played a nearly flawless game. If not for a roode 3p, I think you guys run away with this game. You guys played the Bad Guys perfectly.

@Clem J , thank you for being the undisputed star of the show. Stauf was a character who is near and dear to my heart, and you played him perfectly. I'm so pleased I got to see tryhard!Clem fight tooth and nail to win as Stauf--again, without scum on scum violence, I think you stand a great chance this game.

Finally, congratulations to the villagers for an epic comeback! Late game @HRH Queeb SAR continues her reign of terror upon scum as a reminder to not let her survive to the end--let alone as an IC! @basille you did an amazing job oozing village at F4, especially as a n00b! And congrats to @CeeGee14 as well for your correct reasoning at the end--I'm sorry you didn't rand a wagon bomb, but I hope you will enjoy playing a pivotal role in this town victory!

Thank you to everyone else I didn't name drop specifically--I am honored that you all played this game that was based on something that I know none of you were familiar with, and I hope you had fun 🙂

Clem J, you are Henry Stauf, a Serial Killer Tinkerer

A psychopath, Stauf uses puzzles and games to confuse his victims and offers them a twisted version of their "heart's most secret desire" should they subscribe to his demands. Originally a homeless vagrant, Stauf entered a contract with a demon from Hell that gave him wealth and fame in exchange for providing the demon with a constant supply of souls, ideally innocent children. This lead to Stauf's life as a sadistic serial killer hiding behind the facade of a toymaker. (source: Henry Stauf )

-Each night, create an item and choose a player other than yourself to receive it. This ability cannot be holstered; if you do not submit an action, the moderators will create an item and send it to a random player. The item cannot explicitly be designed to kill another player. At the end of the subsequent day phase, that player will become poisoned, and will die if not cured prior to the end of the subsequent night phase. If you send the item to Tad, instead that player will immediately die to poisoning.

-You have a 1x death immunity to all causes; if you poison Tad and this has not yet been used, you instead become immune to factional night kills permanently (but are vulnerable to other causes of death).

You win as a Serial Killer when all other players are wiped out, or nothing can prevent this from happening.

Village wincon:

The Village wins the game when you eliminate all threats to the village.
------------------------------------------------------------
Your role is compromising. If necessary, you may use the following cover roles:

you are Hamilton Temple, Town Tinkerer (or another targeted PR)

OR

you are a
Friendly Ghost, a Vanillager

First of all: A huge THANK YOU to @WildZoo and @kaydubs . I needed your help to balance this game, and I think it turned out well!
You're very welcome, I had fun stretching the balancing muscles  good for the brain to work with a tricky one. You did a great job!!

Welcome, my servants.

While Stauf may believe this is his manor, I am merely lending it to him to serve my purpose. If there are others here who will do my bidding, I will grant you your deepest desire...

Hello Wolves! A few important notes before I get to your individual roles

1. You have a nightly factional kill. You must decide which wolf will be performing the kill each night. You may change this selection up until the close of each night cycle. Please bold your action, along with any applicable modifiers as relevant, when it is final.

2. If a Wolf carries a successful kill on Stauf, they will be rewarded.

3. You win the game as Wolves when all players without a Wolf wincon are wiped out and at least one Wolf-aligned player is still alive (or nothing can prevent the same). The Village wincon is "The Village wins the game when you eliminate all threats to the village."

4. Please each acknowledge receipt of your role with a reaction to this PM.

1788661609020.png

Animal Midwife: You are Julia Heine, a Wolf Role Cop.
Julia Heine personifies one of the Seven Deadly Sins: the Sin of Pride. An elderly woman, Heine often reflects back on her life. She yearns to be young, beautiful, and bold once more, a time where she believes she could have take on the world. Her remembrance caused her to develop a quickly developed drinking problem, so severe that it cost her her job (source: Julia Heine )

During each Night, you may PM the mods the name of another player. You will receive the title of the Role/Ability (but not Alignment or Character Name) of that player. You will receive No result if your investigation failed.

1788661617577.png

chilly_md: You are Brian Dutton, a Ninja Wolf.
Dutton is quiet and sarcastic. He is a vain and contemptuous man who would do anything to achieve his goals and would justify any immoral actions he might have caused to be just survival of the fittest. Success is his primary motiviation and is the only reason why he has accepted Stauf's invitation. Above all of his flaws, his greatest sin is Envy, which is the sin that is associated with him. (source: Brian Dutton )

As a Ninja, you will not appear on any investigative action reports.

1788661625997.png

Black Kat: You are Marie, a 2x Strongman Wolf.
Ever since she was young, Marie's mother has known that there was always something sinister about that child. "All Hell broke loose" around Marie's 18th birthday, and it is suspected that Marie is responsible for various murders and disappearances...

You have a 2x strongman ability, which will automatically trigger to allow you to bypass most forms of protection or action blocking when you perform the factional kill.

------------------------------------------------------------
Your roles are compromising. If necessary, you may use the following cover roles:

you are Elinor Knox, Town Role Cop (or another targeted PR)

OR

you are a
Friendly Ghost, a Vanillager

HRH Queeb SAR, you are Tad, an Innocent Child Villager.
A local boy residing near the Stauf mansion, Tad enters the house on a dare during the a and becomes trapped. He tries to avoid Stauf's guests while seeking an escape route.

Once during the game, you can post "I am an Innocent Child" in bold in the thread at any time. Tag the mods when you do so. The mods will confirm that you are Tad, an Innocent Child.

The Village wins the game when you eliminate all threats to the village.
-------------------------------------------------------------
1788661966594.png

moonstermash, you are Martine Burden, a Town Jailkeeper
Martine perfectly personifies one of the Seven Deadly Sins: Lust. A misandrist through and through, nothing pleases Martine more than to ruin the lives of every man that she encounters. Besides this, she is a very capable and intelligent lady and she has proven herself to be a particularly formidable opponent. Additionally, while she very clearly has an overall dominating personality, she actually prefers to "play under the radar".

During each Night, you may PM me the name of another player. This player will be unable to use his/her ability (if he/she has one). This player cannot be acted on that Night.

The Village wins the game when you eliminate all threats to the village.
-------------------------------------------------------------
1788662037896.png

genny, you are Eileen Wiley, a Town Motion Detector

Eileen Wiley is the only person known to have survived an encounter with Henry Stauf's mansion. Eileen lost her hand that night, claiming it had been bitten off by a dog. Who's to say what really happened to her that night...

Each night you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn whether or not any actions were performed by or on that player, but not what they were, or who else was involved. (You will get "no result" if this action fails.).

The Village wins the game when you eliminate all threats to the village.
-------------------------------------------------------------
1788662090780.png

katiemcat, you are Ego, a Town Restless Spirit
Ego is a disembodied consciousness navigating the house, solving puzzles, and observing the enigmatic events of a past night at Stauf manor. Ego lacks awareness of how and why they arrived at the house, driven only by a sense that there's an undiscovered purpose for their presence. (source: https://7th-guest.fandom.com/wiki/Ego )

When you die, you may continue to talk, cast votes, and perform other actions as applicable until the end of the next Day phase. At that point you will exit the game permanently. Your Character, Role, and Alignment will not be confirmed until you exit the game permanently.

The Village wins the game when you eliminate all threats to the village.
-------------------------------------------------------------
1788662146441.png

dyachei, you are Carl Denning, a Town Doctor

Carl Denning is a "Case Unsolved" television series investigative reporter. His producer and lover mysteriously vanished three weeks prior in Harley-on-the-Hudson, New York. She was investigating a series of grisly murders and disappearances that had plagued the otherwise sleepy upstate town over the last few months. Denning's only solid lead is a portable computer called the GameBook delivered with only a postmark from Harley. When booted, the GameBook displays Robin's plea to help her escape.

Each night you may choose to either protect a player from death, or to deliver an antidote to them. You may choose each of these actions twice during the game (so protect x2 and deliver antidote x2).

The Village wins the game when you eliminate all threats to the village.
-------------------------------------------------------------
All other village roles were Friendly ghosts (vanillagers)

GG y'all! Good wolfing, good 3ping (I'd give Clem a spiritual win tbh), and good towning (eventually lol - mostly @ myself). And good hosting of course - the flavor was great, I enjoyed (some of) the puzzles, and things felt like they ran pretty smooth!

Night 1 actions:

genny submitted the first correct puzzle solution (SOLUTION: I was promised a child day zero; prize was winning a tie in a yeet vote on D2)
Beans, Wolves, basille, SAR submitted a correct puzzle solution-->basille won by RNG (prize was winning a tie in a yeet vote on D2)
Clem submitted an incorrect puzzle solution.
------------------------
moons JK's dya
dya protects Clem-->will be blocked by JK (dya will not have a doctor shot used up)
BK kills dya-->overcomes JK and uses a strongarm activation
AM seers CG-->receives "vanilla"
Clem sends wallet to katie:

You receive a glittery, shiny, bright pink chain wallet. The moment it's in your vicinity it attaches to your hip, locking onto it as if through some arcane magnetism. The moment that any shot would be taken at you, it is instead drawn to the chain wallet inexorably, as a wayward ship caught in a massive whirlpool, and dispelled harmlessly. Additionally, it's a lovely accessory that goes with everything, which has no mechanical benefit.

You will be protected once, but the value added to your outfits is endless.

genny uses motion detector on katie-->receives "yes"

N5 actions:

Kat NK's moons-->moons dies
Wolves ask some questions as a prize for the puzzle on N4
Clem sends item to BK:

When you wake up in the morning, you notice a locket on your night stand. It's plain, beige, nondescript. Your hand feels supernaturally compelled to reach for it. The moment your skin makes contact with the cool metal of the locket, a warm, soothing sensation spreads through your body. You feel stronger, more vital, as if some protective power has been bestowed upon you. You wonder if you could use this to protect someone?
Black Kat has the 1x ability to target another player (not themselves) during the day and if that target would be yeeted, black kat will be yeeted instead. This change is public (i.e. it's clear that black kat is the one who flipped), and black kat must choose to activate it for it to take effect. They would have to do this in lieu of any normal role ability they may have (meaning they wouldn't be able to use any night-use abilities n6 if they use this) (but not interfering with any factional abilities)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

N6 actions:

Clem sends locket to chilly:

Let it never be said I wouldn’t let a n00b rand wolf—especially with two incredible wolfators like AM and KAT 🙂
