Yada yada, not a wolf, doesn't really matter as there is no means of verification. Quite honestly, if I was a wolf, you would have seen a couple of veterans knocked off early on, and BI would not have been killed first. People who have wolfed with me know how I am, I am very particular about who is killed when and push very hard to get my way. The way that the kills went is in no way representative of how I would do my kills. Can't give much a better explanation then that. I am torn between hedgie and Kaydubs. Slightly moreso Kaydubs, but I will hold off for now since apparently we have yet another 24 hours to vote

Joe Davola didn't like people. He didn't like people messing with him. Jerry and Elaine and everyone else always seemed to be messing with him. He would show them. He donned his Canio costume and proceeded on his way to confronting as many people as possible, using his master karate skills taking out hooligans left and right. It was just as he spotted Jerry and friends and had them in his sights when someone sprayed some cherry binaca in his eyes. As he struggled to regain his vision, a stray air conditioner fell from a high rise and took him out.

Gone from our story is:

Night ends upon night actions being received.
 
There once was a soup stand. It didn't look like much, but people came from all over the world to stand in line for the most heavenly soup ever concocted. The man who ran the stand took pride in his work. It was more than a profession, more than a career, more than a job...

Part of the allure was the fact that this tall, striking man with a brilliant mustache and heavy accent was a certain insistence in the process of ordering and paying for a taste of his glorious soup. No dilly dallying, no hesitation, no mumbling. You step up, state your order clearly and concisely, step to the side and pay. You receive your soup and you leave. Standards. Suddenly he was overrun with "schmoopie" exclamations from a disgusting couple, a crazy lady with big hair beating on his metal counter with all the rhythm of a 1 year old, and some short, stocky balding man complaining about not receiving any bread with his order.

Outraged, he threw them all out and proclaimed that they were never allowed back. It was later that these people would ruin his business and publish all his recipes leaving him destitute. These people drove him to madness and he was sent to the insane asylum for the remainder of his life. They say "No Soup For You!!!!!!!!!!" was written on every wall and every art project.

I don't play this game cus I'm good at it 😛 If you, STL, and dy are feeling kaydubs, I am going to trust you guys.
 
Jerry had done a lot of people wrong in his life. His friends didn't help matters either. He just went about his life cracking jokes, generally at the expense of others, and living in his happy oblivion. So it was one day when the group was flying on a private plane that had some engine trouble, landing them in the middle of nowhere. They went exploring when they came across a poor man being robbed and having his car stolen. Laughing at the man and making jokes, they filmed the event and didn't even think about offering any help.

After the robber made his get away, the victim yelled to a passing police officer that they had witnessed the even but merely stood by and let it happen. So it was that Jerry learned that in this town, Good Samaritan Laws were in effect. The police officer arrested them and so began the trial of the... month. Jerry hired the well know NY attorney Jackie Chiles and they just knew they would win.

However, for the prosecution, person after person was called from Jerry's past and they testified to the many selfish and just plain mean acts he and his friends had perpetrated throughout their lives. It was declared that Jerry was indeed, a very very bad man.

So we end this WW about nothing with the arrest, prosecution, and finally execution of the main character:
kaydubs- Jerry Seinfeld- Hell the show is named after you, what more do you want?!

For me it works really well when it is done fast, as people don't lose interest. But for me, when it is drawn out and you have no role, it just becomes sort of meh. I love speed games with this type of format, I guess I was just less of a fan of the longer format. But then again, I am def ADHD with all of my ww stuff, so I am sure a bunch of people would disagree with me on that

Speed games require people who have the same schedule. Yes, those are still great for when that happens, but as I stated at the beginning, this was an exercise to see if people could analyze each other by simply talking on the thread. No items, no relying on a seer even though there is one, just asking people questions, listening to what they have to say, then they question you, etc. We do not have enough of those types of players to make this kind of game work. I had wanted this to help people in regular games as well. So many people don't do anything but RNG a vote and wait around to see when someone has solid info thanks to a role or item. That is fine, as I understand many people just play to play, but I think more fun is had for both players and mods when even vanillas get into the game and try to actually reason things out based off others gameplay.

Shorter games like this are much better in person, because we can see behavioral ticks in the way they scrunch the facial expressions or bounce their feet when they're nervous.

Agree, just thought maybe with two day lynches people might actually have some back and forth, as well as cover people like LIS that have 24 hour shifts sometimes. Can't leave out my boss!!

Also, this set up does work. It has been shown on other forums that people can enjoy this style of game. We happen to not have those kind of players in enough quantity here is all. Anywho, I had my fun and gave it a whirl, so I am satisfied.:horns:

Not worth it to put hours upon hours of work in for a handful of people to like it and all of the veterans to complain about it. I also don't appreciate the jabs that I get in other games as well, when I am just trying to make an enjoyable game. So sorry, she has finally gotten through, point noted and taken

it wasn't directed just at you, though your games are less enjoyable to me. just as you are allowed to have an opinion, so am I. I like the simpler games in general. I feel like they take more skill.

I feel like when you first started to make games, we warned you about it.

FWIW I didn't feel like it was worth it to work for hours for no one to be tuned into a fairly simple game when I ran hunger games with @kaydubs or for a player to decide unilaterally they'd rather be mod-killed than ask for an out. apparently if you have any vanilla roles, people just stop playing and I think that's some bs right there.

I think there are plenty of us that enjoy both/all varieties (or maybe it's just me...I am an addict and I don't care to discriminate 😛 ). You know your games are some of my favorites, and others have said the same. Any critiques we may have about particular aspects of a particular game don't change that.

I don't recall having said a bad word about your games, including the ones I strongly disliked. Sometimes it's just more pleasant to say thank you, or even nothing at all. As a mod (as in game mod) and feeling unappreciated at times, i feel like you can get that. It just feels like a select few like to use my games as comparison in other threads. It's fine if it's limited to my threads, but keep it there.

I will be honest that I find it less enjoyable as a vanillager, but that's probably just a character flaw for me. I personally hate the peacing out of games that people do, right there with you, but not sure what to so about that without keeping the Inactivity rule intact

But I do appreciate that it's not just me, and I am sorry that you don't appreciate my games... I give my best effort to be honest
 
No offense, but I am a blunt person. I'm not going to exchange pleasantries to exchange them. I am fairly honest in my day to day life as well, as many SDNers can attest. I usually say nothing. Again, I wasn't specifically talking about your games. It's a style of game I enjoy less.

I am kind of a happy medium type of person.

These more straightforward games can be a lot of fun but you really do need a dedicated set of players who will talk back and forth to get them going. And if there is one thing I am horrible at, that is "small talk". I am horrible at coming up with random things to discuss. Dyachei and WZ rocked it this game. I also think you need players that really have the time to dedicate to this. Granted I haven't been uber busy these last couple weeks but I do have rotations at school the vast majority of the day, normal life errands to run, I am in the process of moving apartments, trying to do some board studying, studying for rotations and typing up cases as well. That all takes time and while I do enjoy ww, I don't want to spend the maybe hour or two I have each night only talking up ww. Sorry. Guess I am not as dedicated anymore.

I can occasionally enjoy a very complex game, but often times I just give up. If the only way we are going to "find out" the elements of the game at the very end of the game, then what is the point? Part of ww, for me, is discovering the game design and set up as this aids in figuring out who the wolves are or might be. If I can't suss these things out during the game and it is impossible to do so, what is the purpose? Hard is one thing, that is fine. Making a game impossible to figure out, is just not fun. If the mod is the only one enjoying, what is the point?

That is kind of why I like the happy medium. Give me some cool game elements to figure out, but also give me some simplicity so that I can do some of the talking/discussing thing and try to get a read on people.

The point is everyone is different. Everyone likes different things. I don't care what type of game it is, I will still sign up and play and have a good time. But personal preference dictates which types certain people enjoy more. That doesn't mean there isn't room for every type of game.

I forget now, but you, DVMD, WZ, and .... not sure who else. We had killed one wolf when I seered DVMD and found out she was the protector. I was going to wait until we found one more wolf, then I was tentatively planning to identify myself as seer so that DVMD would know to protect me. And then I gots killed.

I probably should have seered both people in my group so I could chat with both of them ... I didn't realize until after I did WZ that I had to talk to the entire group at a time (as opposed to just WZ). I tried to be alert in this game, but I had a few rough days work-wise (time-wise), so it was tough.

I agree - I REALLY like this format of game. I would have been much more vocally aggressive if I weren't the seer... I was trying to cruise a bit under the radar. (Of course, maybe I gave my status away by NOT being belligerent like usual.) I do think I'd do daily rounds rather than EOD, but ... even so, I liked this game a lot. I've just gotten a bit tired of games where the mechanics are SO crazy that you really just spend the entire game trying to figure out what the sides are ... forget actually hunting wolves. Either that, or the game is crazy and you don't have an important role and everyone around you has like a dozen abilities each so you just sit there rolling your eyes unable to get into the game the same way other people are.

While I appreciate that 🙂 I've just come to accept that I have big holes in my schedule where I can be on here 25 hrs/day, and then other spots where I'm gone for 24 hrs in a row. Just life, and I definitely don't expect to be catered to. Except maybe by you. 😉

A little hyperreactive there, STL. I'll admit it - I don't enjoy your games as much because I find them too centered around wayyyyyyy overpowered roles combined with mechanics that are overly complicated and take away from the guts of the game (wolf hunting).

But so what? It's just my opinion, which is worth what you paid for it. You make a different game style, and other people love it and relish the complicated mechanics and crazy roles and intricate storyline. I still play because I do like reading the write-ups, and I enjoy the other players, even if the game 'style' is less to my liking. I don't think you should stop just because I prefer a different style.

It's not an insult, it's just a personal preference. I don't think you should be defensive about it.

I actually really like these simplistic games, although I don't know how to play them yet. I overreached myself in R&B, and then kept too quiet in this game, so I think I just need to keep trying them out to get better at it. I don't chat much unless I have info these days, and it's a habit I need to break. Next game I sign up for I'm determined to post a ton, no matter what.

Also STL, I actually find your games enjoyable. I grump and moan during them when I'm confused and frustrated, but I feel that way whenever I'm lost.. And usually I like a game more when I'm a wolf or on the winning side (but that's just because I'm a sore loser 😛).
 
By the way - what were the PM groups? Did people actually use them?

I wouldn't mind hosting another bare bones ww sometime soon if there are no other games about to go up and if people would be interested in playing, although just contemplating if I would keep the pm groups or not.
