Thats so weird... I wonder why I didnt even get an email to say that I submitted it? I will give it a couple weeks, who knows.

Would I need to resubmit my primary to those schools once the scores comes in?

No. Once it is submitted to AACOMAS, they will update your application and send a revised application to all of the schools you applied to. I believe it is every Tuesday that they send out new and updated primary applications.
 
If I have a family member who is currently in D.O. school, would it be alright to put them in the medical background portion of the application? I called AACOMAS and the response was that they generally don't give advice on that portion of the application.

Once they get your transcript and your grades are inputted, your app can be verified even before submission as verification is just them saying that your grades are inputted correctly. Your app won't be actually submitted until you hit submit, but you won't need to wait for verification anymore.
 
I was just wondering if there are any other ways than the spread sheet to figure out my GPAs?

I planned on applying next cycle since I'll be taking the MCAT in september. I just wanted to know for sure what my GPA is.
I really just wanted to know:
If I send in my transcripts to AACOMAS and they verify them then can I get away with not filling out the rest of the application and submitting to schools?

If you're just trying to calculate GPA, then don't send in a transcript... you're just wasting their time and slowing the process down for other people who are actually applying.

If you really want, you can open the app and input in all your grades as they're supposed to be input and it will give you the prelim, un-verified GPA, which should be exactly what you're looking for, assuming you input everything in correctly.
 
I've asked MCAT THx to send to AACOMAS on May 23. The website said it's completed, however, on AACOMAS there is still no scores on file. How long did it take you guys to have MCAT on AACOMAS once you've requested? I thought it will only take a day or two since it's all done online, but it has been almost three weeks...

What happens if I omit a foreign university on my AACOMAS application? I'm having trouble getting my transcript sent over, I took a few classes in 2002 and they were all irrelevant business classes… Thanks

If they never find out, then, nothing. If they find out, it would be grounds for immediate expulsion from medical school.
 
I had problems getting my official MCAT scores to post to AACOMAS too, but I found that AACOMAS was very responsive when I emailed them. If I clicked on contact or message and sent them a question, they got back to me that same day if it was a week day. You might be able to input unofficial scores.....

You have to update AACOMAS (you do so via the THx system on the MCAT side). It's not a bad idea to email the schools and update them directly as well.
 
Has anyone who paid and submitted their application on June 3 been verified and released yet? Some users on school specific threads are already receiving secondary emails. My application however is still being processed by aacomas 🙁
 
1. My english requirement was fulfilled by a course titled something other than english, it says to explain this in the Personal Statement, do I literally just say at the end "Note: English requirement was fulfilled at my institution by courses in the *** department" or something like that? Seems so random and tack on to the end of such an important piece of the application.

2. My AP courses counted as credits but not as GPA credits, meaning they are on my transcript but do not factor into my GPA, should I still list them? (the transcript says Ehrs: 8 GPA-hours-0 Q-pts: 0 GPA:0)

3. I have 0 behavioral science credits, I plan on enrolling in 2 online classes to complete these credits over the next couple of months, should I enroll before submitting my application so that I can have them on there, or is there no harm in not having them yet?

What the heck? They are lying... AACOMAS does not release until the third week of June and then the earliest I think I have seen for a school to send out secondaries is CUSOM and its like 6/26.

I would not worry I don't think it is released to middle of June

Yah...I got a secondary for MSU already.

Don't worry though, most schools have different app schedules. Touro for example won't send you anything until October.

I submitted on the 3rd as well and my app is "processing" too. I wonder what the reasons are for the discrepancies in verification time.

Did AACOMAS instruct you to list it in your PS? That seems strange. I have a similar situation and checked the instruction book, which says:

"If you fulfilled your undergraduate institution’s English requirement with a course(s) outside of the English Department, list the appropriate course(s), up to six (6) semester hours, as English. Send a message to AACOMAS using the e-mail support system within the application explaining the course substitution and including a link to the course description in the online course catalog."

I emailed them within the application asking for clarification. I will update as soon as I hear back!

Perhaps there's also a way to note that your bio classes fulfilled your English requirements so that your sGPA is not affected..
 
I'm submitting this week and retook the MCAT last week. Should i list the retake as a "planned" exam since i haven't received my score yet, or a "taken" exam and just leave the scores blank?

I would say list it as planned- you don't want a hypothetical score of zero! I took mine May 17th and listed it as "planned" since the scores have yet to be released. It will be verified even without the score. 🙂

I just dont understand why im not verified yet eventhough I submitted eevrything and paid for it on June 3

I submitted June 1st. But it's ok, most people will not be moving very quickly especially if they have committee letters needed to be printed.

Contact AACOMAS offices with any questions or irregularities."

Perhaps your printout is outdated? When viewing the AACOMAS application, I clicked the "application instructions" link on the top right, next to the application summary button. It opens up the AACOMAS application instruction book for the 2015 entering class!
 
Verified 😀 On the home screen in AACOMAS, it says: release dates appear next to schools. Can anyone see the release dates? For mine, it is still the list of schools with the receipt.
 
If transcripts are in and I hit submit today, about how long of a verification time am I looking at?
 
If I attended a premed conference/student DO convention, should I put it on the app? If so, where?

Can you explain the resolution you came to here? My english requirement was fulfilled by something outside the english department too and I read the same thing as you.
 
Are any of you including extra curricular/leisure activities to your application? I have seen others applying through the TMDSAS/AMCAS applications say that they are listing running, hiking, biking, etc in their applications. Is this appropriate to include?

I attended ShaDO week at Western and ended up putting it on the application. It was only an 8 hour experience, but I figured showing them you took steps to learn about DO can't hurt.
 
If I submit my application on June 23 will I be really late?

Does MSU screen before they send secondary? If so, do you know the stats they are looking for? Oh and congrats on the early secondary! Hoping ti submit soon :S

They don't screen, everyone gets a secondary!

I do not think they get released to third week of June my application still says receipt too
 
Mine still says receipt too.

Also, where are you guys seeing your GPA? I can't find mine anywhere, and I'm verified.
 
Some people are asking about categorizing their activities in the EC section... I'm not seeing any dropdown bar that i can choose, unlike AMCAS... Is anyone else?
 
Hello everyone,

Sorry if this question was asked already but I have an issue with putting the classes in coursework. On my transcripts my labs and lectures are listed separately and so lectures have 4.0 hours and 4 credits and labs have 0 hours and 0 credits (you have the take them together and so there is only one grade for both lab and lecture for each science class). How should I put it in AACOMAS? If I put 0 credits and 0.0 for the grade, isn't this going to lower my GPA on the application? Also, does the order of classes matter? I mean, they are all under correct semester but in slightly different order than on transcripts. Is that ok?
