I assume they just cut battery capacity to cut size, measured recharge burden assuming low duty cycle BurstDR, and are marketing it as the best thing since sliced bread.

The press release claims both battery size and recharging needs have been reduced. I asked my engineering husband how this would be possible and he hypothesized that they upgraded the chip (lower energy burden) and switched lithium polymer.
