Me too!!!! I think this is a good sign. I use firefox but it's even brighter with IE7!
 
They don't actually use First Class mail. They used a reduced bulk rate, so even in Chicago area it's 2-3 days and very slow.

You've gotta be kidding me! One of the most expensive schools in the country and they can't use first class mail???

It's not like I was expecting priority, but seriously.

I guess we should be thankful they're not using media mail. 🙄

not first class? now its definetely coming close to March 8th. Especially with the way my schools mailroom works.....

Did anyone's status change who didn't get accepted in November? Mine is still the same.
 
I called and the decisions were placed in the mail system TODAY
 
Seriously!!! ahhh.. why can't they just put it online.. Everything else is online, secondary, interview dates.. I WANT TO KNOW ALREADY!!! 🙁
 
yep the we shall know by next week then depending on how far from NU everyone lives. probably tuesday or wednesday maybe monday....

How exciting! Some actual news. I gotta say, I am really happy I spent the night at my friend's last night or I would have been going crazy with this blue screen of death business.

Congrats GoBlueMD83!!!!!! Was your letter the notoriously thin one?

It seems as if the status pages changed according to when things were mailed. Since GoBlue got his letter today, then obviously his mail was sent out before today. ie the admissions office are liars 😀 They probably meant that they finished mailing everything today.

I realize it's a small envelope, but how thick are we talking? Obviously a rejection only has one piece of paper.

The letter was dated February 27th, postmarked the 28th. Letter had three pieces of paper in it; one cover acceptance letter, then two copies of an acceptance form that I have to mail back.

First Class USPS. Good luck to everyone waiting! Stay sane. Thanks for the congrats!! Go Cats?

Wow - so much activity on this thread! It will actually be interesting to see, after all the dust settles next week, which of these theories have the most empirical evidence.

Congratulations! Sorry to be so particular, but did you get the weird blue screen last night? Not that that will happen anyone's state of mind, but I am curious...

wow, i never realized this thread would get so much attention when i started it. Guess everyone else loves Northwestern just as much as i did! good luck everyone. PS don't even try denying that we are definately the most neurotic bunch of people in the world... this thread proves it

Can't say I saw any sort of blue screen. I wouldn't worry about it though, I'm sure its just some sort of server glitch.

Thanks for the congrats, ltrain and everyone else. I'm not sure if I'll be attending yet. I grew up in Chicago, so I have alot of friends and family pulling for me to go, but I haven't decided yet... Michigan is a possible choice, and I'm waiting for more of the non-rolling accepts to come back before I ultimately decide. good luck everyone!

I got in too!!!
I finally got home and got my mail. I live in the city of Chicago, very close to campus.

$0.39 postage, first class postmark: 2/28. The rejections are sent bulk rate. The letter is interesting and different. The first sentence talks about a criminal background check.

I already faxed in my acceptance of the acceptance.

Yes I had the weird blue screen and a Tuesday status change. I interviewed in December.

It seems that those who got tuesday status changes are accepted and the rest are rejected/waitlisted.

^i hope that isn't the case!

plus, GoBlue and OHare both live around Chicago so I think it may be too early to say
 
don't conclude that right away....could just be that only chicago people got anything and the rejected's aren't exactly chomping at the bit to announce it.

yeah ditto. I checked mail today and nothing. I go to school in IL so maybe today or tomorrow. Hopefully. Congrats to GoBlueMD83 and OHare and good luck to everyone else!
