I'm just asking out of curosity how many of you applied to UC Davis? Which got accepted and if you were california residents? What was your stats like GPA,GRE, animal experience, etc? UC Davis is my first choice of school but I will be applying to other places next fall and I was just wondering how good my stats have to be comparing to other people. Thanks and congrats to those of you who got in.

I'm just finishing up my first year here at UC Davis and I absolutely love it! Even though I applied in 2008, I'll go ahead and share my stats.

Yes, I was a California resident.
GPA: Cumulative = 3.6ish, Science = 3.7ish, Last 45 = 3.94
GRE: 520 Verbal, 700 Quantitative, 4.5 AW
Experience: TONS of small animal, a good amount of zoo/exotic, a lot of lab animal (not research - I volunteered with the clinical staff at a research facility), zero large animal, zero equine

I did a lot of my pre-reqs at a community college and do not have a bachelor's. I applied with an interest in lab animal medicine.

Hope that helps! Feel free to ask any questions.

Not that it's related, but I must be the only one whose verbal GRE score was a million times higher than her math score ... which sucked. 🙄

Nah, my verbal tends to be higher than math. GRE was at least close, but my verbal SAT was 120 points higher than math!

more OT nonsense - my verbal is way higher than my quant. Which I find REALLY weird because I have rocked every class with a strong math componenet in it. stupid gre!

You guys are all weirdos. Comparable verbal + quant percentiles are like 150 points apart. My verbal percentile (640 - 94) was higher than my quant percentile (770 - 90) but not the numbers themselves....

Yeah if I compare percentages that makes it even worse. I don't remember my exact scores, but my verbal was about 100 points more and that set me at something insane, like the 55th percentile in math and the 96th percentile in verbal. Ah well, seemed to work out for me. thanks for humoring the OT madness. 🙂

Looking at this may help you see where you fall regarding stats:

Last summer I set up an appointment with the admissions office and the Director of Admissions went over my application with me. Doing so made me feel much more confident and prepared to apply, so perhaps you'd consider doing this as well.

If you'd like to see my specific stats, PM me and I'll write you back 🙂

yeah I am curious to see your stats if you have time to show them to me. mine aren't really that good right now and im trying to get as much experience this summer as I can and bring up my gpa also
