I think Drkawan´s post was absolutely OK. He was referring to the OET anyway.
So don´t try to be the senior censor here.
Of course you should NOT post texts from the 1060Qs. ADC has banned another forum for that.

Andreas

Hi
First of all, mind your own language. I am doing what I think is best for the forum. And by the way dr. kawan was not only refering OET but has mentioned the written exam question so please read the post carefully before nonsense criticism on my post.
another thing ..I have never text 1060 MCQs directly on the forum.
I hope you won't dare to say such things in the future. If you can't help other people , you must not just be sitting objection other people's posts.

I am sorry but I re-checked all posts by drkawan and there is NOTHING against the forum rules. But you have participated in answering questions from the Q-bank a couple of times. Need I remind you?

Since 2006 I have helped more people in quest for the ADC exam than you will ever know.

Oh, and I passed the whole b... exam including clinicals. You don´t know what you are talking about. So don´t start insulting other people.

Hi
there is alot about rubber dam in
"Art and science of operative dentistry by Robertson Heymonn and Swift". but if you need general information , you can get alot on the internet.
Cheers :hardy:
Dr. melbourne

Thanks a lot Dr Melbourne
When are u planning to take part-2?

cheers!

I think you have some problems with the your reading. bellow are lines which dr. kawan shouldn't have mentioned nt he forum
"regarding the writing part we were asked to write a letter of referral to an oral surgeon for advice for a pt who required an extraction of tooth 36 who was on warfarin therapy".
How can you be such an old member of the forum when you even don't know even the basic rule of forum that not to mention any exam question dierctly on the forum.
Dr. melbourne

hi,
i understand im not supposed to mention any questions abt the exam,
the writing part (letter)u are referring to was in OET.
Lets all of us forget abt this misunderstanding and carry on with more imp issues of how we can help each other through this exam time🙂
thanks
cheers

Okay, Mr. Smartarse doctormelbourne, if you can´t tell the difference between OET and ADC, and if you don´t have the ability to tell the difference between a breach of forum rules, and posts that are absolutely all right I won´t help you.

The sentence you referred to is absolutely ok to mention here and is NOT a breach of forum rules. It is from the OET writing test and can be found on the OET´s official website anyway.

I have asked myself what I am still doing on this forum after having passed the ADC exams. Well, I thought that some of you would need info regarding the clinical exam from somebody who was successful.

But I don´t like to deal with know-it-alls who try to censor other peoples posts without proper reason. I wonder from which country those members come - maybe censorship is in their blood. Thank God Australia is different!

So I am happy to leave the forum - good luck to those who deserve passing!

Cheers,
Andreas

looks like SDN is turning to be a battlefield btwn members. There is nothing more frustrating than to see brothers with common cause irresponsibly verbally harassing each other.

Whoever moderates this forum must keep this in check. 0.5 % of posts on this forum are verbal wrestling. Why. We are dentists and if we fail to control our tempers, what can become of us in the hands of a difficult patient in surgery at the end of a busy day??

This is a simple case of people failing to say the right words to a collegue who may have done something we think is wrong.

I put forward the motion to ban any obnoxious message levelled at another member, no matter how good the reason for wanting to do that is.... for progress's sake.

Hi everybody
How much we have to pay for Part2 exam? 550$ or 5500 $🙁?
Cheers.
Thanks.

Dear Dr Melbourne and ANDREAS
Both of you are professionals👍! Please stop fighting😡! Everybody look at both of you. You are one of the most senior persons in this forum. There was only a misunderstanding between both of you and it is not a reason for fight. Till now both of you helped the new members of this forum a lot and you should continue that. This is not a way to deal with disaggrement.👍
Cheers.
Arsalan.

Hi DR melbourne and andreas,
Even if some one made a mistake , we should forgive each other.we are making issue out of nothing.I am not going into detail because its useles.WE should write to each other in very good manners.
we should talk very polietly. Both drmelbourne and andreas are extra ordinary members in their own way and have helped us alot.
we are just like brothers and sisters to each other. please for our sake keep up the good work and respect each other.
If you dont know let me tell you that this forum is the most popular forum of the overseas dentists and it is so because of people like drmelbourne and andreas.

Dear all,

Kindly let me know the fees for training course for Part -2 in AZ? and roughly wat is the cost involved along with living expenses?

Hi
The fees of 20 week orientation course which Royal dental hopital conduct (called OTC) is over 15,000 thousand Oz $s. I don't know how much would be the total cost along with accomodation and food etc. because it really depends which kind of accomodation you go for but I can give you a rough estimate. My friend was living temporarily in a student hostal ( furnished one room, no bills excpet food ) for 325 dollars per week.
I think the course is expansive but people who have done it say that this course is worth its cost. I myself havn't done it.
Send me e-mail on [email protected] and I will send you the whole booklet regarding this course. or you can send them e-mail on [email protected] and discuss your queries.the phone no. is 61-3-93411177 (same is the fax no.)
the other course AIDER is i think about 13,000 oz dollars. you can check their websites and get the required information.
Cheers :hardy:

Hi drmelbourne,

Hi Waqar!
Well...One thing which every body knows is that OTC is ofcourse a very good course and helps alot to clear the ADC clinical exam but suppose if somebody is not able to do it due to any reason( as you have mentioned)...then it depends on many factors to pass the exam like how do you prepare the theory, practical, communication skills and confidence. but if you read all the old exam papers and practice practically which they ask you to do , then I think it would be easy to pass the exam. as there are typical things which they give in every exam like cavity preperation for amalgam, amalgam and composite filling, root canal preperation and obturation, extraction, scalling and partial denture design.
One of my friend passed the Febuaury exam with out any course, without any practical preperation, failed only one CD, for which she is going to appear in the next exam. And she says that even she could have passed that one if she would have prepared the theory properly because according to her they were asking very difficult viva questions.
Cheers :hardy:

U can also refer to "Medical problem Solving in Dentistry" by Edward W. Odell.

Good book!!!👍

Hi
The correct tilte of the book is "clinical problem sovling in dentistry" by Edward W. Odell and not "medical problem solving in dentistry"
The link is
http://books.google.com.au/books?id...istry&sig=iKeDa7xJ8RioN9fEDb43mSOaCMs#PPP1,M1

this boo "clinical problem solving in dentistry" has got 3 or 4 cases of medical emergency in dental clinic but well explained.

If you are preparing for the ADC examination the Medical Emergency and Management of medically compromised patient are not text books which can be brought from any book store for your information. Don’t give wrong information to people.
