Unless you know a contact person for the med school you write to, does anyone know the proper greeting for an update letter to be written? To Whom It May Concern? Dear Sir or Madam? Dear Adcom Dean?

can't you address him/her by his/her name?

the worst is when the adcom doesn't want to give out the dean's email address when you ask to write a thank you note for the interview and you end up addressing the thank you note to "admissions". where ANYONE (even the guy who licks the envelopes for rejection letters) can read your li'l kiss ass email (which begins with the words "thank you") and snort with laughter.

usually you can get the dean's name. if not, go for "dear Admissions Office"

I like to use...Dear [name of school] Admissions Officer
