Yes. All 44 of my PE dates evaporate when they do this.

Not the whole time but for a while now yes.

Possibly. I read it as they are trying to make it look like the NBME decision had nothing to do with this and they are doing their own thing.

I suspect they will just make up some sort of thing that has to be done at your school, which is how it should be done anyway.
 
To those who have requested a refund, how did you do this? I don’t even see my exam date anywhere or an option to cancel.

Whyyy though. We have already had OSCE after OSCE and we graduate in 80 ducking days. This is actually a loss for those of us planning on skipping it regardless and taking step 3. And what about if you fail the “alternate pathway”??? This literally can only hurt 4th years it can’t help, we will probably be doing whatever bull **** they decide to make us do right around match day.... what happens if we fail?

I bet there are a lot of people who would be more than happy to pay rather than take a... less than useful test.

They themselves say they don’t know what this alternate pathway will be, and they won’t even announce it until March.

they are not designing a virtual PE exam in that timeframe lol. They will most likely have our schools certify us on those “skills.”

Which is what you would flipping think could have been done for such a long time. it just makes sense.

Yeah this is how I read it. This is a huge win.
 
So what should c/o 2022 walk away from this with?? PE is canceled? Expect nothing in its place or something?

3. What should I do if I have already scheduled my Level 2-PE exam?
If you are in the Class of 2021 (or a previous class), you are safe to cancel. Please keep an eye on our website for developments on what your alternative pathway will look like. NBOME recommends that residents take Level 3 after completion of at least 6 months of residency training. In recent years most residents have been taking Level 3 later in their first year of residency or in year two, so you have time to plan that out.


NBOME may make us take "the alternative pathway" during the first 6 months of intern year.

I am celebrating hard tonight and all weekend long! This is a huge victory and could affect rank lists from program directors! Program directors might rank DO’s higher now since there is no PE!

lol wut, no, PE is cancelled indefinitely, its gone, the announcement is clear about this, the "alternative pathways" can be nothing more than passing your schools OSCE since a virtual PE would be useless, it clearly says that no one(CO 2021 or 2022 or beyond) will have to travel to an NBOME testing site in order to take comlex level 3..
