Is now a good time to remind everyone to take COSGP's new PE survey? They finally had the backbone to take a stance against the NBOME, maybe it's not too late.

This survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete. It is being utilized to help COSGP advocate for students regarding Level 1 going pass/fail and for continued issues regarding the Level 2-PE Exam. All responses are anonymous and will not be used for research purposes.

Can someone please explain like I'm five? Why not adapt the test to meet the current needs (i.e. eliminate travel)?

Edit: I see now that this is older and was at the height of outbreaks in most areas, but still not sure why travel was absolutely necessary. Did it get cancelled? Surprised I didn't hear more about this.
 
This is a reminder that there is currently still a 2 week quarantine period to enter Philly and Chicago. Idk why this part isn't being brought up more.

The NBOME wants you to stop seeing real patients or disobey the law to do their fake test on fake patients using fake OMM.
 
The news has been leaked. The big announcement will be that they're opening a new testing center in the west and will be adding new dates. As expected, still planning to resume testing on Nov. 1st

How do you know the news has been leaked? President Trump tested positive for COVID and the cases are going to spike again so I don’t know how they can justify testing again on November 1.

Just trying to save you all the heartache, you’re welcome. A dean sent out an email with words directly from the vice president of the NBOME so it seems pretty credible. Just because they say they plan to restart in November doesn’t mean they actually will go through with it I guess (but I think they will). The official announcement is supposed to come out next week

I believe this is true, but post the text of the email so we can add it to the record.
 
There hasn't been a third site added to the NBOME website yet. I just looked for open PE dates and it's still Chicago and Conshohocken. Not that, that means anything prior to an announcement...

So not only are they ignoring any semblance of common sense, they’re also not giving us notice until the week after they promised us an update? Kewel

They want to let Trump getting Covid sink in before they tell us we are going to keep testing. Really ups the trolling levels. Old Greta and Gimpel are trying to reach level 99.

Of course, they leave open the possibility of opening a testing site on Dec. 15th, effectively ruining any potential time off with our family due to quarantining before/after the test.
 
They are resuming Nov 2nd. They have stated that and are commited to it by not changing that date in the current announcement.

Ehhh I disagree tbh. The original start back date was the 1st of November so now they’re just pushing it back by a day? I don’t think so
 
I just read that announcement. IMO their wording did not sound even remotely certain that they will be resuming testing November 2nd. If anything it sounds like they are not sure what the hell their plan is lol. I take this as a very small win.

It is intentionally vague. If the testing dates were cancelled, they would have said that. You guys act like they are going to communicate to us in a rational, meaningful way. What they will likely do is comminucate to the schools that testing is back on without explicitly saying so on their website.
 
I like how the third site opens after rank lists are due. If the point was to get everyone through and they have known they would try to do a 3rd site (mentioned MONTHS ago) then the least they could do is figure it out in a timely fashion.

The validity of the test is questionable for so many reasons but now you have a third site that has random people grading you lol. Wow. It's like the whole test is a farce. We just hire random mcdonald's workers in Fresno to score you on the PE because, actually, your grade is mostly just made up random.

Nah bro. If they were 100% sure they were testing they would have said so. Would have dunked it on us. Instead they are hedging yet again lol.

It means testing starts Nov. 2nd. Mark my words. The previous date of Nov 1st was a Sunday. The only reason it is now the 2nd is they bothered to look at the calendar.
 
Should we really have to answer to an org that can't even speak or write in fluent English as evidenced by their announcements and test questions but wants to evaluate us on washing our hands and speaking English?
 
i would also encourage anyone in the class of 2022 to register for a spring session. your class is not going to get out of the PE, but you might as well help back them up as far as possible.

**they say they can block anyone not in the class of 2021, but how would they know? plenty of students who took a 1 year masters and took level 1 in 2019 but aren't graduating this year.

Nothing is open until July. Chicago is completely full through the summer and Philly only has open spots in July.

Basically the gist I am getting is they are wanting the AOA to hold the NBOME accountable, and also asking that the AOA designate a different way to test clinical skills competency.

From the sentence talking about stakeholders, it sounds like the NBOME hasn't been communicating to the other organizations either and those organizations are pissed.
