I was just wondering if there were schools that offered admission to people without interviewing them or is there some rule prohibiting that? Anybody know?

No. The rule is common sense. They have no idea if all those ec's are just bullcrap and if you do not have some psycho personality.

Maybe MSU, because they do this with their DO school. I believe it happens more with in-state students than out-of-state.

Do a little research before you insult someone. This does happen, at least at MSU. If it happens one place, there is a good chance it happens at another.

Sorry, I was not trying to insult anyone. And I do know from previous forums that MSU has been known to do this. But regardless the people admitted to medical school without an interview is extremely low. Extremely low. The people who pull this off are outliers. So for all intensive purposes I round the answer down to no.

MSU does....I got in without an interview and I am OOS...actually the exact line that was stated in the admissions letter: "The completeness of your application materials and the quality of your achievements convinced the Admissions Committee that an interview would be superfluous." Is that bad ass or what? Saves me a flight and hotel stay!...🙂

Yes. They interview many more than the number who enroll.

I haven't heard of any allopathic school that offers admissions without an interview. It's unlikely that there's a rule against doing so, but it seems to me that an interview is a necessary component of your file. It's not only how the school finds out about you on a personal level, but a chance for you to evaluate the school as well.

Schools interview somewhere between 2 to 5 times as many people as they're going to offer acceptances to.
