I've heard you can specialize from anywhere, but a lot have said to not go to NYU if you wanna specialize. I believe everyone will suggest to go to the cheapest school

Are you willing to pay a 100-150k premium over 4 years just to live in NYC over Boston? If money isn’t an issue then NYU could be suitable for you.

But it also depends what you value more in a program. Tufts class size is relatively large too (200ish) so although it may have a better student:faculty ratio than NYU, it’s probably still not ideal (compared to schools with 4:1 Or 2:1 ratio). Clinical experience is better at NYU imo just based on the variety of cases and the patient population. You are able to network more at NYU which is a decent benefit — especially if you continue to practice in NYC. NYU also has pretty much the latest in technology and digital dentistry (which is why tuition is always super high too). You get good experience working with cad/cam, lasers, best biomaterials etc. Tufts also has updated facilities so similar in that respect

need more info from you though because everyone’s situation is different . But if you’re not a trust fund baby then Id pick Tufts
