is there anyone here that has transitioned from af enlisted/commissioned to the af dentistry program? i know that there's a navy program that will give you an enlisted rank of e-6 while in school and i have heard rumors of a program that exists in the airforce that is similar. since i have a family i can't live off a stipend between 1k-1.5k. and also, i would love to continue my military service instead of stopping it for the duration of schooling and starting over again.

I seem to recall the USAF having a program called "Boot Strap" when I was enlisted.

It let you keep your enlisted pay and benefits while attending school full time for a certain amount of time (seems like I recall it only being 2 years??).

I don't know if the program still exists--maybe talk to the education office on base or a recruiter?
