I have recently been accepted at 4 schools, one of which is an Ivy that I would really like to go to. I got in contact with an Air Force recruiter a couple of days ago regarding the HPSP scholarship. While I was not ruled out by any of his initial general medical questions, I am worried about MEPS.
I have done quite a bit of reading about the qualifications, and am wondering about a health problem I'm currently working through. Back in high school, I was on an imbalanced workout routine that led to some shoulder impingement in both sides. Since then, the problem has lingered, and I am currently in the process of doing rehab exercises to get them back into shape. I have not seen a PT/physician regarding them since high school, and I am hesitant to do so for fear that it would be so close to MEPS.
My options right now seem to be:
1) Continue rehab/strengthening exercises by myself and move forward with the HPSP application process and hope to be at full health by the time MEPS comes around.
2) Go to see a PT to get an assessment and risk have a red flag thrown up before I even start.
I appreciate any thoughts in advance.
