So I technically can't post on the alternate list thread so I thought I start one for applicants who are on a list for the alternate list! Whatever that means!!

Mizzou: W2BVet (application under review, rank for alternante list after After April 15th) 😱:xf:

I got that letter too. It was pretty wierd right. They start out saying they have increased the class size (which apparently was still not big enough to accept us, umm thanks) and then go into that criptic you might possible, maybe be assessed for placement as an alternate.

Does that mean that nobody got rejected outright and everyone who was not accepted in this alternate for the alternate list situation?

Well...from what I understand we are on the alternate list for the extra seats and whether we get in depends on how many OOS people decline. My letter did not say a rank so who knows exactly where I stand. Sounds like you are in the same situation. It is very confusing but all I can do is pray that a seat opens up. Good Luck!!

Hey I talked to Kathy Seay today and she said that we essentially are "on hold." She said we hadn't been ranked high enough to get a definite offer and hadn't been ranked low enough to be rejected. I guess there are 30 extra seats and they are looking over all the files and deciding whether to give them to IS or OOS applicants.

Still not super helpful but at least we know what's going on (sort of )

So it's not split half and half like stated in the Missouri thread?? It seems to be a different story every time. I'm also not sure how being "on hold" can even be possible. I'm not complaining it's just weird that we are not low enough for a rejection but not high enough for a rank...so are we back up for the alternate people?

Has this ever happened at Mizzou

WildZooVet... did she mention how many people are "on hold" and how do we actually fit into the picture? I am so confused...are we on hold for the extra seats and if so when they decide where the extra seats go then will we know if we have a seat? I can't imagine them sending those letters to us if there wasn't a small chance that we could be accepted...right? Did she mention the chances for "on hold" people to get an acceptance?
Sorry for all the questions!! This is sooo upsetting.
