I honestly think I'm going insane. Here's the deal. I'm still a junior but I'm applying to schools in november (early bird gets the worm) and I have a conundrum. My parents work at UVM in Vermont. It is a good school, it ranks about 80 on USNWR. Since they work there I would not have to pay a dime in tuition. I would still need to pay for books, fees, and R&B. Also my parents could help me with tutoring and stuff.
But here's the deal; in some ways I would rather do this on my own. I'm thinking about applying to LSU, ASU, U of A, UF, and some other schools as well as UVM. LSU is my top choice currently. My parents seem somewhat disappointed at my consideration of other schools. Basically they will only pay a tiny amount (maybe just the R&B) at any school that's not UVM.
Yet, I still have this drive. I don't know what it is. Maybe I feel that I need to prove that I'm independent. I've spent my whole life dependent on others. Maybe I just want to get away and start fresh. I know it's psychological but I just can't pinpoint it. I'm probably the stupidest person in the world. I want to go to a different school even though I would have to take out loans and go into debt and probably get a part time/summer job.
