This is ridiculous! I post to lots of different threads, and then I can't for the life of me remember which threads they were, so the next day (or later), I can't find the conversation anymore. I guess I'm going to have to keep notes every time I post! I was sick for a week recently and couldn't use the computer. Now I can't remember some of the threads I was following.

I remember in one of them, Sumstorm was talking about her search and rescue dog and the reaction she got at a clinic when her dog was injured. Now I have no idea what thread that was. There's a bunch like that. Jeez, I'm losing my mind! I think the GRE math is melting my brain.

How do the more prolific of you keep track of where you've posted? (Twelvetigers? Sumstorm? Anyone?) 😳

I don't have a clue what to do with that, but I'll do some reading and see if I can figure it out. Thanks David!

When you click it, it brings you to your account page which should list all the threads you are subscribed too.

Im assuming here, but most people will set their account to automatically subscribe to any thread they post to. So you end up with the usercp page giving you a list of every thread that has new posts to is since the last time you read it.

Whoa, you can subscribe to threads...?

Oops. I didn't set my account to do anything when I first joined, so that page just tells me that I am not subscribed to any threads.

Sigh.

I am living proof that it's possible to post 70 times on a forum while having NO IDEA what you're doing! 😛

That page tells me what threads I've posted in so far ( that have subsequently been posted in by someone else). I usually don't use it - I guess I have a good memory? Who knows. But, it comes in handy sometimes. As far as every thread you've ever posted in, you can either do a search for some keywords you know were in the convo, or you can go to your own user lookup and view your recent posts - just flip through until you find what you want. I think it gets easier to keep track as you get more used to it...

I have to LOL at the idea that I'm "prolific." Hee hee.

Another "lower tech" way to tell what threads you've posted in - when you have the main forum page open, there's a list of all the threads. Look at the little envelope logos next to each thread. Ones you've posted in will have an arrow over the envelope picture.

If you click on a screen name on the side of a given post, it gives you the option to see all posts by that person. Should work if you click on your own name as well. Good luck!

i have a hard time using the search function because it gives me results from all the sdn forums (fora?).. is there a way to search only within the pre-vet forum?

that's what I use.

I abhor the clutter of thread subscriptions.

Click on search, then advanced search, and you'll be able to pick which forums you want to search through.
