Hey CaptainJack02, I don't know why, but your avatar scares me!. 😀 I don't know what it is about it, but it just freaks me out man
What the heck is it?

OK. Yeah, I would have turned that in too. I was thinking it was just a minor error.pushkin said:Medic170--
The reason I can't really keep quiet about the AMCAS mistake is that the summary section for my coursework looks very strange. The is a big zero for my whole sophomore year. There is a page full of zero credits for all those classes. One look and it's obvious something's wrong. I'd hardly want to have some school question me about why I didn't follow up on this.
Plus if you read my post in the thread about AMCAS investigations, you'll know I'm just paranoid in general! 😉

superdevil said:katec12345, i would say that you are at least "average," if not still a little early for AMCAS submission (SDN be damned).
as for your personal statement, i'm sure you're fine there, too. i guarantee adcoms see that kind of stuff constantly, and that it won't disqualify you from admissions. don't call AMCAS unless something really BIG is wrong. good luck! 🙂
to go on a semi-related rant....
i would wager that AMCAS processing/verification times would be cut IN HALF if the people on SDN didn't call them 673 times per day. just think; everyone could be transmitted before the end of july if it weren't for the constant harassment in the style of "i've been squinting at my monitor for hours, and i swear that one of my colons in my personal statement keeps showing up as a SEMI-colon! damn you all to hell!! you're keeping me out of medical school!!!!!!"
any takers on my bet? 😀

ya, ya, me too. submitted 6/25, active 6/28, and nothin' so far.
i'll be ok if its processed this week, though.
by the way, do schools download our applications after they have been "processed," or "verified"? i hope its "processed," but since that's my hope, i'm sure its not. 😡 SDN can be one frustrating place, man....
no sh/t??? wow, i've been really confused about this whole mess, then.Processed = Verified
LRmed2003 said:ummmmmmm yeah..
so when do they start sending apps to the schools? when to expect 2ndaries?

krebse said:anybody use the internet check option for paying AMCAS? I got immediate verification that it all went through just fine, but the amount hasn't been debited from my account yet...anyone?...I'm wondering if this could be part of the hold-up on getting verified...

AMCAS operator assured me that it would
take ~1-2 days to correct my application.
Corrected AMCAS app: ?? still waiting
Scubadoc said:me too. i called amcas today and they said not to expect anything for TEN business days. 👎
LRmed2003 said:they are soooo slow..i think some stuff has been transmitted, but maybe AMCAS doesn't actually update the application page itself, they just transmit, esp. if some folks are already getting invites to submit a supp. app. whaddya think?

glad you've been processed, panda, and i hope you're right!I didn't see verification, so I'm guessing it should temporary. It probably depends on who handles your application. As other posters mentioned, a couple of AMCAS staffs probably just don't bother changing your status from active to in verification. I'd expect your app be processed today or tomorrow. Good Luck!
Mine was like that for about 8 hours.superdevil said:hey everybody,
i submitted my AMCAS on 6/25, and it was "active" the following monday (6/28, i think). when i checked my AMCAS log-in screen this morning, under application status it says "verification." does this step imply a lot more waiting, or is this the light at the end of the tunnel?
i think some of you said that your app went straight from "active" to "processed," so do you think that maybe the "verification" step is only temporary (like a day or so) and maybe you just missed it? how long does the "verification" step of this damn thing last anyway? 🙁
thanks,
sd
leechy said:I received an email from a school today saying that they had received my AMCAS application, but when I look at my actual AMCAS welcome page, it doesn't say that it's been transmitted to any school.... kind of confused....
brynn7 said:will they send you an email when you have been verified or do you need to keep checking to see if your status changes from active to verified?
Termwean said:Does AMCAS send out our apps? Or, do Med schools download them( I mean request them)?
DGhiker said:I emailed AMCAS this question on Monday and they said the welcome page of the AMCAS app will no longer show transmission dates. I think we're all going to stay 'Processed' forever. They said you just have to watch your inbox carefully to ensure all the schools receive your materials. Kind of sucks.
leechy said:Ahhhh... cool. That clarifies it - thanks! You saved me an email to AMCAS. It does suck that we're going to basically keep track of transmission ourselves.
Severus, don't judge your progress based on what you see on SDN. you WILL go insane. trust me, i've been there.I'm totally behind.
