I've heared that they took away the analogies section from the PCAT

is this true does anybody know?

You're thinking of the SAT. The PCAT still has analogies, but they're much easier (in my opinion) than the ones on the SAT.
 
I hope they keep them.. call me a freak but I love analogy questions!!

So if you score high on the verbal it means you have higher than average IQ?
 
They took out the ANTONYM section, not the analogy. It was replaced with a fill-in-the-given-blanks-to-complete-the-sentence section. 🙂

which I found out the day before I took the test, I had an older study book... maybe that's why I only got 84% on the verbal (which is usually my highest scoring area on standarized tests) (93 comp)

It's hard to say because the PCAT is normalized against only people taking the PCAT, not the entire population. But, analogies are a good indicator of reasoning ability. Most of the PCAT just tests you on what you've learned, not your ability to learn which is just as important for success.

I've found that just about everyone I've met in pharmacy school has a higher than average IQ. It goes with the territory.
