Anesthesia vs IM - Matching in Specific Location

Just a few questions about matching in a specific location. Interested in both anesthesia and IM.

As a DO student (top quartile of the class, pass on step1/comlex1 first try, minimal research, good comments on clinical rotations): what are the chances of being able to match in a specific locations (Maryland/Washington DC to be specific)

Having a hard time getting audition rotations for both anesthesia and IM. Is it possible to match as a DO in this region without an audition? What are the best ways to potentially get an audition or elective at programs in this area?

Hopkins anesthesia in Baltimore used to be DO friendly. (Maybe still is)

Currently have 2 auditions set up in anesthesia. Both in the NY/NJ area

Aiming to get a good letter from the first program and applying with that

Depends on the step 2 score man.

Anesthesia will be tough in any popular area (ie coasts). Very low match rate for DOs in recent match
