I saw a documentary about the British fielding underwear impregnated with silver in order to prevent the growth of bacteria and discourage body funk. Effectively, the underwear could be worn for weeks on end without stinking.
As for using this in a lab coat? I never plan on wearing a lab coat long enough between washes to need it to be resistant to odor. It's not a force field that repels MRSA, so I wouldn't think of it that way. Even if you bought one, you'd still need to treat it like a regular lab coat --> it's still considered "dirty" and shouldn't be worn outside of the clinic if you don't want to spread germs.
It's a cool concept, but at >double the cost of a normal coat, IMO you'd be better just buying a few normal lab coats and putting them in the laundry every day.
