Any 27-29 MCAT with interviews????

28O...got an interview at Davis. Trust me guys, the numbers are not that big of a deal. Find a school that looks at the person as a whole, and strengthen other sides of your application if your numbers are weak. Also...APPLY EARLY!
 
Hey guys!! I also have a lower MCAT but am lucky to have 3 MD interviews so far!! I think applying early really helped me. Don't give up! It is possible 😀
 
Hmm.. this thread makes me feel somewhat better. I submitted my app on 8/3.. payment received 8/6...

still waiting on DO and MD interviews, but am hoping for the best!!

You definitely have hope for MD schools. 1 point on MCAT actually makes a difference and you'll have that master's undewr your belt. Just make sure you perfom well and have solid experiences.

Applied to MDs and one DO - AMCAS is in and verified but TMDSAS is taking FOREVER... 🙁 starting to panic a little grrrrr

Congrats to all with interviews!
 
29P, 3.8 cGPA, 3.72 sGPA -2 MD interviews - Wake Forest and Drexel
 
29P/3.5 with 5 MD interviews! Don't give up hope, my darlings.

Interviews at U of Arizona-Tucson, U of Arizona-Phoenix, U of Iowa, Creighton, and Drexel.

I'm still waiting for number 2 - I'm sure it'll come eventually though. I'm so impressed with all the under 30 MCATers with multiple interviews - I was pretty nervous coming into this app cycle but this thread makes me feel way better :luck:

Totally out of my expecctation, and they key is to apply early~!

Yeah... I was starting to feel sick with worry that I wouldn't get any interviews this season. So far I have 3, which is equal to my total for last year. Hopefully I get some more and at least 1 says, "YES please be our med student." Its hard to watch all the stellar 30+ with 8+ interviews.. but I am feeling better now that I have a couple to look forward to that are early in the season. Good luck! I know we applied to a few of the same schools so I am rooting for ya!
 
Sent out my secondary apps last week.
27P/3.93. Applied to all the MD instate PA schools and hoping for the best. It's nerve wrecking just waiting!!!!

So far 1 MD Interview: UC Davis 😍

I'm grateful for the interview, I just hope there will be more to come... but as long as I come out of this cycle with at least one acceptance, I will be more than ecstatic!! :xf:
 
When you all say "apply early" how early do you mean? I applied early august--3.5 cGPA 3.4 sGPA 29Q mcat---lots of hours shadowing, volunteering, working as a home health aid, and TONS of research...i mean tons.

So far I've got 1 interview at Case on friday....starting to lose hope!! GAH
 
A very close friend of mine applied, interviewed and got ACCEPTED at FSU in Tallahassee, Fl this week.

He has a 3.6 GPA and a 28 MCAT.

He is non-trad though and has incredible extracurriculars, and also applied very early (July I think) in the Early Decision program.


I agree with everyone that said to apply early when your numbers are a little less than excellent.

Edit: Now an interview at Wayne State and MSUCOM. There's hope!:laugh:
 
Yeah, I have a less than less than 27 MCAT. I was worried I wouldnt get interviews but I have 2 so far. I am a URM. But Im worried that I wont get any other. But I have to keep hope and pray.
 
still only one MD interview.....C'mooonnn I need a few more 🙂

Received secondary from WVU MD school which has been confirmed to be a guaranteed interview.
27P/ 3.93 cGPA/sGPA. I'm OOS but have significant ties to WV which I guess they look for?

There's hope for us guys!! 👍

cGPA 3.8, sGPA 3.73, MCAT 29P with 8 in PS. Non-URM. PA resident. :-D yay I broke my interview number from last year...😀
 
Well I had a 24P(9V/8P/7B) MCAT with a 3.6 cGPA, but I got my August MCAT score back yesterday and got a 29Q(10V/10P/9B). Hopefully I'll get an interview at a MD or DO soon....

Hee, I realize I wrote that stupid.. I only got 1 more interview yesterday (WVU) lol not all 4.. hehehe but still I am excited because I only got 3 interviews last year and its still fairly early this year.. ::crosses fingers:: Hopefully one pans out! Good luck to you btw, I'm sure you have more interviews coming your way. :luck:

heyyy, question Jadealer... did you apply with the same application last year or did you do mcats again? I am about the same as you (3.85, 29)...and I haven't heard from anyone yet, I am getting sooo nervous! 🙁

if you got good EC you should be fine i have 5 interview so far and 29P so im starting to believe it is just a number yea it limits us but we can get places with it

I do, I have a ton! 🙁 I am a medic, I did a couple hundred hours of shadowing, over a thousand hours of ALS EMS experience, and I work full time in as a medic in a pediatric ER, a year of research and i worked all through college. 🙁
Ahh! this is so stressful. 🙁
what do i do now?

I added some more presentations and new clinical and community service activities and am taking a couple classes... but I think my biggest thing was applying early and as broadly as possible (30+ schools)... I've definately gotten more rejections than interviews.. but it only takes 1 acceptance... so that is what I am crossing my fingers for...

Oh yeah.. and I didn't retake the MCAT.. I figured I would give it ago with applying early and broadly.. I took the MCAT twice.. I don't want to take it again if I don't have to.. hopefully my gamble will pay off.
 
Oh no! So am I a lost cause since my MCAT scores just came back tuesday? 🙁 I feel like it is so late! everyone has so many interviews already!

I applied really late last year... secondaries in Nov and Dec and got 3 interviews but they all amounted to WLs

For everyone who is stats obsessed, in your face 😛 stats are not everything.

I found this thread and I love it. I know I was very nervous going into applying because most of my friends had better mcat scores, but it worked out just fine so far....hopefully it keeps going well and everyone ends up with boatloads of interviews!

I have 7 MD interviews thus far, a DO one, and 1 DO acceptance.

Anyone who has just started applying, I hope this gives you hope and a little bit of comfort!🙂
