Any 27-29 MCAT with interviews????

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
2nd interview invite to VCU a few days ago!

Congrats! When were you complete for Albany? I have been submitted since 7/28 and am complete on their status check but did not get a complete email.

I submitted on 7/19 and I dont know when I was complete. Good luck!

Lefty Doodle: Congrats! That's really awesome, especially considering how early in the cycle it is!

up to 7 interviews. But not counting my chickens before they are hatched 🙂

Very Impressive, Prepare well and you are going to have some big decisions to make 😀

Whoops....WOW. I guess that shows I haven't grown into my new skin yet! I do the same thing with birthdays and new years...a few years ago I even wrote "1997" on a quiz.

I want to give some hope to people with lower stats.

I have 3 MD Interviews and 1 DO interview so far! 🙂

Good luck everyone! :luck:

Congrats Docbrill! Do you mind sharing where your MD interviews are?

Also, has anyone on this thread been faced with "explain your low verbal score" or anything along those lines during an interview? what would you say?

Not at all! University of Vermont, Virginia Commonwealth, and Cooper Medical School at Rowan University. I think all three are great schools 🙂

For the verbal, I would say something like that: I am ESL, which makes me a slightly slower reader. Because of this I ran out of time for the last few questions and had to guess. Nonetheless, my verbal score is not horrible, however, it is not an accurate representation of my communication skills, as shown in my essays...

I was asked at two interviews if I was "happy" with my score. "IDK, are YOU happy with my score??"

Good luck and I hope you get accepted to your first choice!

9 Interview Invites for me so far - 5 DO, 4 MD 🙂 Still haven't heard from several schools.

This thread is ridiculous.

Any 27-29 MCAT with interviews? OF COURSE. Any 27-29 with acceptances? YES. Tons.

SDN, shame on you.

I have a 29 and 2 MD invites so far (primary verified mid-August). Though I have a 4.0 gpa, which kind of skews things, but I was so worried about my <30 mcat score. Goes to show you how neurotic SDN can make you.

I need to bookmark this page for inspiration and motivation (especially after reading some of the other threads on SDN- people saying that they want to retake the MCAT because they "only" got a 34. Psh.). Can you guys please post which schools sent you interview invites? Thanks!
I've gotten 2 interviews so far, both D.O. (LECOM and KCUMB). I'd be happy at either an M.D. or a D.O. school, so I'm excited about both interviews! I got a 27Q on my last MCAT and am debating whether or not to retake.

3.9 GPA, 28P on MCAT.

1 interview invite, coming from the least likely of the schools I sent secondaries to.

Hopefully the others aren't far behind.:xf:

Not everyone wants to go DO... I'm pretty sure this thread is meant to focus on MD interviews, but include DO invites.

MD - NYU, VCU, UVM, and Cooper. DO - DMU, Western, NSU, ATSU - Kirksville, Touro (not attending).

If you have a high gpa, and individual scores higher than 7 - you should be able to get several interviews without retaking. Of course, ECs and applying early and broadly are very important too. Good luck!

You also have to remember that internet forums in general attract plenty of people who get caught up in the hustle and it's a perfect place to vent/gloat/dowhatever without having someone tell you to STFU for the most part. SDN is the same ****, different criteria.

Do your best, work hard, and best of luck to you.

This is all a fabrication. You can't get into med school without a 42 on the MCAT. 😉😉😉

Clearly we're all screwed.

I agree, SDN seems to attract quite a few neurotic (more so than me), self-aggrandizing types. The info on here can be pretty skewed, but it also can be a good resource. Good luck to everyone on your interviews! :luck:

I got an interview at Georgetown with a 30 (10/10/10) R.

Rejected by Vanderbilt, UNC, and BU.

Still haven't heard from a number of other schools.

Congrats on the interview invite, but please read the thread title again.

sorry about that; i just thought that 30 was practically 29 so folks might be interested but i guess it's irrelevant.

No interviews yet so far but congrats and a huge thank you for giving me some hope! I was kinda depressed about my mcat score so this thread really helps

Hello!
I am interested if people can comment on what my chances are:

I graduated with a PharmD and MBA in 2009 and have been working in pharmaceutical industry since then and also moonlighting as at a retail pharmacy on weekends. I have a lot of clinical experience through pharm school rotations and also post graduate experience. I had been working in the pharmacy since high school as well.

I decided to apply pretty late this year so studied for the MCAT in 15 days and got a 26Q (10 BS, 7 PS, 9 VR WS Q). My first choice of school is univ of mississippi which is a MD school but based on their website, their ave MCAT score is 28 with 3.7 or 3.8 i think for GPA. Do I have a shot considering my working experience, previous career in health care? I graduated from pharm school with cum laude honors with a 3.6 and MBA GPA was 3.7.... its a bit hard to calculate a science vs non science GPA with professional programs as I only took pre pharm requirements.

I am debating on whether or not to apply to DO schools, but i am not sure!

Other schools I have applied to ( I live in Chicago but will be married to a MS resident hence applying to MS school as they only take MS residents!)

1. Chicago Medical School Rosalind Franklin
2. Univ of IL
3. Rush
4. Loyola
5. Univ of Alabama
6. Meharry in TN
7. Univ of MS

I appreciate any feedback! Thanks.

For the people wanting to know which schools-- 29, and interviews at Creighton, Iowa, Rosalind Franklin, Indiana, Mayo, Ohio State, Medical College of Wisconsin, Case Western, and GW. Obviously I'm not pinning much hope on the schools like Case, Iowa and Mayo where I am wayy below their averages. But 4 of the schools had an MCAT average around 30, and my GPA is high, so hopefully... I am so glad I elected to apply early instead of retaking!

PS I am ok with the 30 guy being on here, because I like to tell myself a 29 is very similar to a 30 🙂. As it was, though, I would have been ecstatic to have gotten a 30 and was in tears at a 29 (but only for a few minutes-- I had secondaries to fill out!).

Damn you did work this cycle. great job!

28p here with 4 DO invites and 2 MD. Good luck everyone.

3.6 GPA
29Q MCAT

2 MD interviews, 1 DO acceptance

Good luck!

5 MD, 7 DO interviews.

2 MD acceptances, 1 DO so far 🙂

Good luck everyone!

My cousin with a 25 got into CWRU. However, he did do some original research.
