Are there any decent alternatives to Gaswork, the site has either repetitive postings, inactive ones or lacks some postings that
randomly pop up elsehwere.

Gaswork is good for just browsing Frankly I haven’t used gaswork to any full time or locums job since the first Obama administration. Are there any decent alternatives to Gaswork, the site has either repetitive postings, inactive ones or lacks some postings that

Network on here…. Sdn is a great resource. People don’t like to post jobs because they (in general) get ripped a new one… but lots of places are looking or know to hire a good fit in this market if they can.Are there any decent alternatives to Gaswork, the site has either repetitive postings, inactive ones or lacks some postings that

There are no more Ins.... all the jobs pretty much suck in their own special way. They don't even pay well anymore. Im just glad I managed to finish paying my student loans (it took close to 20 years)and essentially debt free and solvent.Yeah you have to have an in, only the people with great jobs are offered other great jobs
correct. Jobs are fleeting. lol. A little bit of an exaggeration, my friend… everyone should know location, schedule, money…. Prioritize one and that will dictate the restIt’s hard to compete with the SDN standard of $850k and 28 weeks off.
Many people my era 2003-2007 had 2-3% student loan consolidated rates. So no real urgency to pay it pay it off earlyYou're an anesthesiologist and it took you 20 years to pay off your loans?
Are you an early/mid 90s grad that got screwed by that market?
I have one student loan left at 1.75%. 218/month until 2042... so many other loans are getting paid off first. Many people my era 2003-2007 had 2-3% student loan consolidated rates. So no real urgency to pay it pay it off early
I was at 3.5-% but paid it off in 3 years in 2007.
Silly me being responsible and losing a bunch of money on housing as well.
So people like to leverage debt.
It really feels like the market is drying up. Even GasWork went from the usual 3–5 pages of repetitive listings per state down to barely two. Makes me wonder if there’s some kind of artificial reset happening — maybe even some quiet collusion between the bigger players. What’s your take on it? It’s strange how anesthesia demand dropped so fast in just the last 6–9 months. Maybe all that VC money that was being thrown around for unnecessary coverage just to “buy market share” finally dried up…
Hit or miss depending on location.I suspect a lot of the slowing is due to the overall macroeconomic concerns and slow job market nationally (as is seen in many fields now). Hiring has slowed for everyone. Hospitals have some uncertainty around government reimbursement. Additionally, full time offers have improved so fewer people are jumping to locums.
Yes NY/NJ Market has dried up even jobs no one wanted suddenly became very attractive once Napa exited NJ and salaries reached where they need to be. Not so much in midwest where people do not appreciate what they have.... and hardly work 40 hours a week... anyway we got wayyyy off topic here....It really feels like the market is drying up. You speak in opposites all the time..... if jobs got filled as you said how is it that market did not dry up? Of course it did in desirable locations ie NYC San Diego... its still ****ty in the middle of rural Illinois, etc.Don’t think it’s drying up… I think permanent job offers have gotten better and filled. We are filled and no one considers this a desirable location - we like it but not for everyone. There are a few jobs out there now with 700k offers that won’t kill you. Not in nyc or dallas but pick your priority. A few friends are prn in those locations and complain about the $ compared to mine…. Pick your priority.
I’m still bombarded with recruiters calls and texts. Their offers suck half the time…. The good jobs are full and timing has to be right to get in with retirements.
Really? Find me a 700k job in Tristate area, low call and CRNAs I will take it...... yeah no one will give that up to anyone elseNetwork on here…. Sdn is a great resource. There are lots of w2 jobs in the northeast that pay close to 700k w2. U need to put it in context u are taking 10 weeks off and average 40-45 hr a week inclusive of calls. Is that what you are really after?Really? Find me a 700k job in Tristate area, low call and CRNAs I will take it...... yeah no one will give that up to anyone else
Any idea about the SoCal locums market?i would cold call hospitals in your desired area, lots are still looking, maybe not for locums but for regular docs
you may have to go one some interviews that dont work out, but your not going to get a menu of options with salary and vacation time and you just choose where to go
Is rhat a typical 1-2 year turnover these days?correct. Jobs are fleeting. The schedule maybe good for 1-2 years and staffing changes and u gotta decide to move on or stay.
So I encourage all those who aren’t happy with their current job. To walk if changes aren’t made. Give them 6 month to 12 months. Walking away maybe the best solution.
I also encourage people to never to do overtime at your own place unless u are getting a good deal working extra. Say work 2-3 hrs extra and paid the entire 8 hrs and first to go home. The worst thing I have seen is many south Florida docs rot in room solo post call for almost an entire 8 hr for $225-250/hr w2 taxed at 35-37% plus 0.9% Obamacare surtax. Just to cover for shortage of crnas who are chilling on south beach who decide not to work on a Friday. Don’t be that idiot.
If the work load is too much. People don’t stick aroundIs

20 years to pay off your loans? how much did you have??????There are no more Ins.... all the jobs pretty much suck in their own special way. They don't even pay well anymore. Im just glad I managed to finish paying my student loans (it took close to 20 years)and essentially debt free and solvent.
I took the slow route. then at the end I was essentially getting free money( in no interest or payment for 3 years) for 3 years with the pause. It would be idiotic for me to pay it off.20 years to pay off your loans? how much did you have??????
Well you probably got Biden-care once in a lifetime no payment no interest for 40 months during COVID.I took the slow route. then at the end I was essentially getting free money( in no interest or payment for 3 years) for 3 years with the pause. It would be idiotic for me to pay it off.
